Yeah maybe, but sorting that out is a pain. Just call it what it is, apologize for that awful event, and give it out to everyone. Easier to handle, and makes more people happy.
I don't have an issue with them adding to the cash shop inherently as it's an unavoidable modern evil, but...
The amount on there compared to what we can get in-game is ridiculous. Would it honestly kill them to add some of it in the actual game as an obtainable reward? I'm sitting on all of these achievement points with absolutely nothing of interest to spend them on, and we've been requesting more rewards to the gold saucer with MGP for years now. No, adding a 6mil MGP mount isn't going to remedy this.
Thats why u don't run events like these. Or run it without exclusive content, and give generic things like for example 3-days sub code in happy meals.IMO I think it is because they need to work with outside companies, Take the black fat choco with the KFC collaboration for example KFC is franchised outside of the US to separate companies meaning SE would have to deal with every KFC franchise independently. This is mostly likely why they've given up doing collabs in the EU Because it's just so much leg work compared to JP and NA.
...
I can see a point in this with something like the White Raven Earring debacle. People suffered through 1.0 when the game absolutely sucked and still supported the game. They should have something a little special for doing that, that others don't get.
...
People that got the pizza emote spent $15 on food from GrubHub.
You are not the same.
You got to have it for two years and have your fun. It's time to let other folk have a turn.
And yes, I got the emote back then. I do not mind other people having it. Hells, I forget I have it half the time. You are not a special child for spending some money for food and getting a Happy Meal toy, you consumer tart. IT'S A FRIGGIN EMOTEWHERE YOU EAT PIZZA.
"Look at me! I am the chosen one who navigated a slightly inconvenient marketing campaign to get a 5 second emote of my character eating pizza! BOW TO MY SUPERIORITY AND BASK IN YOUR IRRELEVANCE!"
Hells, what's wrong with you people?
Chill, so angy. I don't care about the White Raven Earring because it's barely visible in the first place....

Also by your logic "You got to have it for two years and have your fun. It's time to let other folk have a turn." This applies to everything you said, you had your fun with it, let others have their turn.
Sit
They also repeated the XV even once or twice
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
Money money money
There's a difference in these collabs. The pizza one was a code redemption you had to obtain via the acquisition process with the non SE party. The in game collabs you mentioned are SE side and can easily be re-run. (which most have actually done multiple times).I get it, people couldn't get it then during the timed collab and that sucks, but by that same logic, all ff15, dragon quest, yokai, etc. collabs should come to the store.
The only way FF14 can remedy this problem is making a slightly different version of the animation to bring to the store, this also includes any and all past collab items.
If we take a step further, if we're talking about timed exclusive items, bring back slightly different versions of the past seasonal feast rewards to the store because people will be sure to buy those in droves.
