Thread: UI changes you want in 7.0?

A much less talked about subject that I think is important: what UI/HUD changes do you want in DT? I personally would love the option to swap the party list from showing people’s buffs to showing their cooldowns. I’m less interested in how long my dancer’s adloquium has left than I am in when their technical step comes up.

Being able to disable all the bloody confirm pop-ups. takes so long to desyth or turn in gear to the GC and worse of all the "Do you want to open this door to continue in this dungeon?"

More chat groups settings. As these are client stored anyway, the limit of 4 makes no sense.

that one would actually be god tier qol to me.

A big "UI quality pass" is really needed over everything, and I say that knowing it was much worse before. there are a ton of minor things (like the confirm popups) or other organizational issues that are just so bad - vendor menus being the most egregious in general. Still a far cry for an actual good user experience.

On the top of my head, the ones that bothers me the most are:

1) The Party Frame. So many useless elements... I don't think I need to see a Light Party/Full Party header, nor I need to see [1],[2],[3], etc party member order labels. I don't think I need to see half of other people's buffs cluttering that list... Making all of those optional toggles would go a long way.

2) Target frame. The 'long thin line' of HP is the bane of some layouts because it's hard to fit with compact setups. I'd love the option to have it similar to how the Focus Target frame is.

3) The job gauges are lacking for some jobs. Everything that you'd need to track on the buff bar should be tracked on the job gauges as well, like they do with Huton. If people feel that it's too much, they should separate the gauges in different, toggleable, elements.

4) Retainer management. I know there must be some tech limitations to how the retainers work, but I wish it was just a single interface with tabs where you could manage them all.

5) The "You can't do [x] while [y] is active".

Being able to assign all actions to the hotbar

Being able to separate buffs in the UI and edit them individually, so you can select what buffs are important to you and make them more visible.

Making Glamour plate chat notifications it's own unique chatlog category so you can disable them without disabling system messages in general.

Mouseover casting without having to use incredibly inefficient macros, not sure if that counts as a UI change though.

The UI to go away outside of battle. Like why do I need to see my gauge when I'm in Gridania?

The chat box should go away after inactivity, just like GW2 does it.

Also chat bubbles.

FATE JOINED as you fly through the edge of a FATE, on a non-combat job that is too high of a level to participate. I did not join the FATE, and even if I had I wouldn't want Captain Obvious shouting it at me
