    Unfortunately. Which is kinda ironic, a MMO that is kinda proud of itself that it started over to fix the game up due to closed minded decisions at its conception, throwing away creative ideas every expansion to make things more and more simple until you get to where we are now (and later worse) where nearly all:

    Healers all have the same DPS kits.
    Healers all have the same Healing kits.
    Tanks all have the same mitigation kits.

    I dont play enough DPS classes to comment on them, but without a doubt they are becoming more homogenous as well with things such as;
    Most abilities just being "Delivers and attack of X potency"
    BRD songs not being support oriented.
    Pets/Summons being more of just a visual thing rather than an actual entity.
    Any buff being "increases Crit/damage/Direct Hit" or "reduces damage received"
    and honestly the 2-minute meta as a whole.

    Removing creative ideas, and adding more and more structure to the game with scripted encounters, but with encounters already being super scripted and now with the 2-minute meta the devs are now able to "script" how players engage with the heavily scripted encounters, whether that is "Players get their burst up during this time, so dont interrupt it" or "they can burst during this time, so lets put something in there they need to kill". With more structure, there is less room to grow or develop new ideas.

    I'd love to eat my own words, but I agree they wont put in the time or effort. In fact, Im positive we'll lose more creative aspects of classes for new abilities that "delivers an attack that deal X potency and 50% to all others", and Black Mage gets another stack of Triple Cast so it can cope with being a Job made for a completely different game.

    3) Raid-wide dmg happens more often
    4) Random damage spikes.
    5) Mech that evolve around dispelling
    6) AOE DoT DMG!
    But then you’ll have to actually spend your time healing, and the community has been very clear that healers should DPS, not heal, because healing is bad.

    I suppose if you have the reading comprehension skills of a ring-tailed lemur with a concussion, then yes, I could see how one could interpret what “the community” has been saying as that.

    Every guide on Youtube, every player you talk to, the first thing they mention is "Healers have to do DPS too!". These guides also tell you how to optimize your healing, so you can do more damage. You hear often times in Savage content, "Healers, you shouldnt need to use any GCDs on healing in this duty. Only used oGCDs for healing."

    Maybe take a step back, and look around elsewhere on the forums to see what folks are saying? There are folks falling over themselves begging for more DPS buttons because they spend a majority of their time DPSing. You can find plenty of people on the forums and on Reddit for "Tales From Duty Finder" that complain when a healer is healing too much. If I can find it, I'll post a quote from someone who told me, (not exact words) they'd hate to have more consistant damage coming out from bosses, because it would cut into their DPS.

    Also, you are incredibly rude.

    Are you familiar with the concept of an enrage? If so stop being so obtuse. If not, it’s where the party needs to produce x damage in the encounter duration. P8sp1 had a requirement of ~62.5k dps, or in the region of 24 million hp to get through in the nearly 8 minute encounter. At the time it would be extremely difficult to meet this check without healer damage, and you would not have any buffer for accidental death. The #1 parse of 6.2, 2 months after release (as in time enough for the whole group to have bis gear), had 75k dps, 11k contributed by the healers.

    Haha, so true Tank/DPS main besties! Healers heal! Healers shouldn't be allowed to have fun in every bit of content like you can, how could we forget! So silly of us for asking our jobs to be designed for the actual game we're playing and not to be like a 20+ year old MMO you played in the early 2000s! Clearly if we have to press our GCD heals more in raid content, that will make having only 2 DPS buttons really fun in every bit of raid and non raid content in the game! You guys are so smart, that's why you are DPS/Tank mains!!

    There's a big difference between being efficient with healing, so that it is not used when unnecessary and making a general pronouncement that "the community" wants healers not to (i.e. never) heal, when no such edict is in place. Nor, for that matter- could it be enforced.
    But, whatever, what can I expect from a botanist.

    "Too" =/= "Exclusively".
    "Should" =/= "Must, regardless of any and all shifts in circumstance".

    The design right now for healers, is having 2 buttons for DPS because they are designed around healing first, DPS second. DPS rotations for Healers have never been deep aside for SCH, as they had Arcanist's spells too. AST Released with Malefic, Combustion, a Spell that dealt way less than Malefic but applied Heavy, and Gravity. WHM later lost Aero 2 and SCH lost everything except their 3 DPS buttons. SGE has thier 2-3 DPS buttons.

    Right now, in non-savage content, you dont need to cast anything but your 2 DPS buttons with oGCDs to heal. In Savage content, you are trying to maximize how much you get to use your 2 DPS buttons so you can clear before enrage. So in both cases, you are a healer 2nd and a DPS first.

    But alright, you have a fleshed out DPS rotation with procs and maybe even you job gauge is changed to fit with it. Now you do damage more often, or even more of it! However, enrages will be more strict as you are now designed around dealing more damage than before, which will further enforce the idea that you need to spend as much time as possible DPSing to avoid enrage, and doing the job of your role, Healing, as little as possible.

    I both heal and tank, and main'd healing from HW until Endwalker released. Tanking DPS rotations are brain dead, you do it all the time, and there isnt really anything that makes you go "Oh hell yes, that was awesome." after spending even a week playing EW. I think Tanks and Healers get the shaft in terms of design, healers getting the worse of the two. Nearly all Healer abilities are "heals X amount to 1person/nearby party members", "puts a shield on 1person/nearby party members" "Heal over time on 1person/evereyone", "Reduce damage taken by 10% on everyone." and we cant forget "Deal X damage" and "Damage over time.".

    SCH and AST used to be unique in the sense of how different their jobs were when you thought of a healer. AST gave out some serious and unique buffs to party members, and SCH could focus heavy into doing damage and being a "off-healer" when needed using ARC's spells. But both of those aspects were removed. Im so down for a Healer than doubles as a DPS, that'd be awesome! But just giving that to every healer is not the fix you think it is and will eventually move to removing the idea of a "healer" and end up with them being DNCs with expanded healing abilities.
