Not really. Most of them say much the same thing and most people usually come up with the same strategy (or few strategies) anyway.

currently there's not a single objective and accessible way to see what debuffs/buffs were on the boss at the moment you reach a new mechanic
Check the battle log. Status effects are shown in there and can be linked like items and PFs can. You can also just get to the mechanic and hover over it.

or the type of attack you missed by chance to see what it was.
The type of damage dealt by the attack is stated in the battle log and also as fly text.

Have to either stop paying attention at the environment to read the description, record the pull or take various screenshots to read the boss's buff/debuffs after the wipe it's bad and strains the time everyone want to spend progging.
This is true. Recording and then reviewing footage is the most effective way to work out complicated mechanics when doing it blind and that's exactly what these "other sources of information" have done for you and is why most people check these "other sources of information". Even in the first hour of a raid release, people are watching live streams on their second monitors so they see if other people figured it out before them to save time.

Then there came the idea that it would be really useful to have an Encounter Codex, which for every new mechanic the player actually sees (or most likely dies to), the debuffs that went off or the type of attacks would be logged with their description in a neat window that can be easily accessed and inspected in-game.
Like the Battle log which does exactly that?
