    Addicted to happiness

I am addicted to happiness. At first, I never cared about making gil or buying a house then things changed when I sold my 1st fat cat for 250k and I got this insane rush of happiness. I wanted more rush, so I learned about workshops and started saving for a house. I got into the lottery and a zero bug happened and I won the house for free. I got this insane rush of happiness. A free house and my 50 million gil were mine to keep. Today I am worth 210 million gil. I can't stop. I got to have rush. The Island favors, my retainers bring back treasure and gil. How much is too much?

Do you have an insane rush?

Mood. I discovered FC house workshops and I now make 500k out of thin air, daily. Can't beat that rush.

My question is, what exactly are you going to do with it?

Honestly if you don't have a house, gil is kinda worthless. I have never really found anything worth dropping major gil on unless its the high end crafted stuff. Still millions for a full set of 640 is still only temporary since you can slowly earn higher.

Its not like FFXI where it took forever to build up gil, because there was no way to make money and almost EVERYTHING required it. There in that game this kind of thing would have been very worthwhile. There they also had problems with gil sellers and all kinds of crap due to not having that type of thing. You had to grind every gil. Here I can't even imagine gil sellers making much money because almost nothing other than superficial crap is sellable.

FFXI and FFXIV are two totally different games when it comes to in game currency. Hell lets just say it, they are two totally different games period.

FFXI was actually fairly easy to make gil on. The issue is many of the better systems to get gil went unused by players because they either did not want to do it, or did not want to do the prepwork for it. So instead most just obsessed over trying to get rare NM and HNM drops.

Different people have different priorities. What's 'superficial crap' to you is treasure for another. Minions, mounts and other rarities can go for 50+ million.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

When I say superficial crap I literally mean superficial.

In this game you don't need any of that to play or be effective. In FFXI you really did. FFXI is the old school way and a much much harder game. You had to have the type of high end equipment just to be effective at your level. Here you may only need it if you're doing certain types of content. There you needed it just to play the game or your experience there was going to be a painful one.

FFXI used a similar model to Everquest. When you died you lost exp. Everquest had the infamous corpse run so you had to run all the way back to where you died naked and collect all your equipent and then put it on, and if you couldn't get to your corpse before it disappeared you lost all your gear. To add insult to injury you could even lose your current level because you lost exp when you died if you didn't get a Res.

You have no idea how F'n hard that game was if you were not perfect or with the best gear you could get. I hear they lightened up over the years as more modern MMOs came out... but when I say the things you are talking about are superficial... I mean that. One you needed just to play... the other was optional extra you don't need.

I can buy everything I want when it comes out in a patch. My collections include all tradeable items. And now that there will be a pause in content until summer, I will be closer to my ultimate goal of reaching the gil gap.
