I think being able to do it in game would help a lot! Plus some fun rewards?!SE would do well to take a page out of Genshin's book as far as surveys go and I think it'd be super interesting if they went through with it properly vs the fairly wet efforts we've seen of late.
You can answer them right in game (And get small rewards to encourage you to do so), if you answer negatively it'll actively ask for further feedback and whilst they are still primarily multiple choice, they tend to be flexible enough for you to stick the knife in if you're so inclined.
In a game with such a multilingual player base as FFXIV, these sort of surveys are the way to go if you really want to gauge the player base as a whole IMO. Granted I'm not particularly convinced that SE are in a position to actually do much with the info whatever it may turn up, but that's a different topic altogether.
Even if it's just a pin that says "I voted", I'd want it.

I am 100% for this!
Yep, definitely the way to do it. Put the survey in game so the most people will see it and it's actually representative of the general playerbase. Don't tuck it away on some obscure Lodestone page that 1% of actual players will ever see. If the devs want useful player feedback, doing it this way can only benefit them.SE would do well to take a page out of Genshin's book as far as surveys go and I think it'd be super interesting if they went through with it properly vs the fairly wet efforts we've seen of late.

I suppose you'd have to put a level restriction on the surveys, though. Maybe only players who are level 50 and have finished ARR MSQ can do it? We don't want thousands of RMT bot accounts skewing the results.
I was thinking just a token amount of gil, but something more fun would certainly be better. I don't think they can give us unique glams every time if they wanted to do surveys regularly, but maybe a unique aesthetic consumable like special fireworks or something? Could give us a pack of 20, and if we wanted to keep up our supply we'd have to keep doing the surveys.

Hello!
Posting feedback on the forums sometimes receives negative or toxic responses and also many people don't even log into the forums.
Would it be possible to send out surveys to the players so that people can provide honest feedback and a larger audience can be reached?
Thank you for any consideration you might give to this request.
Citizens, Square Enix will probably never have the courage to field an open survey. They're probably scared of all the negative feedback they're going to get.
The dark times will pass.
They're doing their part. Are you?

Aw gotcha could've guessed it would be something like that, but unfortunately a necessary evil when people will put death threats and unhinged shit in their answers if they could sadly.

I have created a survey website for what people want to see from any given job over in this thread. You're free to share it anywhere you'd like. It's got feedback from the forums and from reddit currently, limited feedback, but more sources of feedback are always appreciated. The link in that thread will take you to the wordpress. Click any job name to take that survey. Once you finish a survey, you can scroll back up to view the total results for any job. If you don't want to give feedback for a job because you don't play it or don't have much to say about, there's a silly question at the bottom of each survey that you can submit while leaving everything else blank. This will allow you to view the results without skewing the data, and you also have the freedom to return to a survey at any time to change your answers.Hello!

Oh yeah dude I know. I remember they released a survey a few months before EW came out (patch 5.5 at that time), and I think that's the last time they had a survey that truly let players share their feedback on the game. I have a feeling that they'll be extremely hesitant to release another one of those surveys anytime soon, especially with the game being in its current state.
They also released the 10th anniversary survey a few months ago, but they asked a bunch of easy questions that didn't let players give proper feedback about the game - nonsense questions like your main job, your favorite home point, your favorite mount, your favorite minion, and the enemy you think is strongest.

The Legends of the Titanmen lives on, a shining example of the power of compassion and the ability of people to make a difference in the world. A reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, as long as there are heroes like the Titanmen who dare to do good deeds in Eorzea.

There are so many different options for rewards besides gil, I think they could keep it going that way for a long while. Here are five easy categories: Glamour, Titles, Framing Kits, Housing Items, Minions, Fashion Accessories.... If they did it after every major patch that would be 5 items every two years! In my view that's manageable.I was thinking just a token amount of gil, but something more fun would certainly be better. Regardless of the reward/incentive and frequency, I think easy access surveys with regularity is the key to get measurable feedback.... as long as the survey isn't as useless as their 10th anniversary survey that went out a few months ago. That felt like such a wasted opportunity.

I think an in game survey would be something that would benefit the game a lot.
This wouldn't be terribly difficult to implement. Just send out an email to current and formerly subscribed players asking for their feedback. Other games actually do this occasionally. I remember getting an email from nexon about some game I'd dropped ages ago.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if they implemented this, but only asked currently subbed players who are, generally speaking, more likely to say the game's great and doesn't have issues? Sure would be silly if they conveniently forgot to ask for feedback from former players who'd unsubbed. Haha. But surely Square "this new relic is the best relic because everybody got one" Enix wouldn't make that mistake, haha.
