Survey to all players

Hello!

Posting feedback on the forums sometimes receives negative or toxic responses and also many people don't even log into the forums.

Would it be possible to send out surveys to the players so that people can provide honest feedback and a larger audience can be reached?

It's a good idea and it has my approval. Whether SE ever wants to do something like this, however, his a whole other question.

They did earlier thisyear, But it was just a thing on their game launcher that was easy to miss, lol.

They did one recently but instead of being able to do it ingame or through the launcher that I'm already logged into I had to go onto my phone or browser and log into their website on that. Should just do that again but make it easier to take part in.

That survey however felt disingenuous by design as it only contained multiple choice questions worded to generate positive responses and left almost no room for proper feedback.

Aw gotcha could've guessed it would be something like that, but unfortunately a necessary evil when people will put death threats and unhinged shit in their answers if they could sadly.

They already do this, there was just a 10th anniversary survery about characters and other aspects of the game, I believe one question was gauging interest in a few different side stories.
From memory a few friends of mine have gotten these as well after they cancel their subs asking about their reasons. Unless you're in a particular group they want to hear about it's just here, social media, and the feedback form in-client.
They don't really care too much about individuals from the looks of it, but generally the overally vibe the community gives off about liking or not liking something.

Something to be aware of though is what they take away from their data seems to be if you keep subbed, you're happy, if you do content, you like that content. Their data doesn't seem to account for people continually being masochistic and consistently doing content they absolutely hate.
They quoted the number of people doing relics as a reason for why these ones are more popular and well liked than previously as an example.

SE would do well to take a page out of Genshin's book as far as surveys go and I think it'd be super interesting if they went through with it properly vs the fairly wet efforts we've seen of late.

You can answer them right in game (And get small rewards to encourage you to do so), if you answer negatively it'll actively ask for further feedback and whilst they are still primarily multiple choice, they tend to be flexible enough for you to stick the knife in if you're so inclined.

In a game with such a multilingual player base as FFXIV, these sort of surveys are the way to go if you really want to gauge the player base as a whole IMO. Granted I'm not particularly convinced that SE are in a position to actually do much with the info whatever it may turn up, but that's a different topic altogether.

I have not participated in any surveys from SE in a few years. It would be great to get a survey in email that could be answered with comments.
