I want to see just one zone be open world PvP with a highly sought after HNM smack in the middle of it.
Still, you have to take into account that PvP is being implemented after the Dalamud crash. Eorzea will be devastated, the Eorzean Alliance will most likely hold no meaning now and each city-state will now be vying for supremacy over the peninsula. In fact, if you read NPCs dialogue, at least in the Flames quest line, it's easy to see the Alliance itself is already very fragile.

I understand where you're coming from with that line of thought, but I still don't see it happening. If nothing else they have to know that they would risk tearing multi-nation LS's apart by creating faction based PvP. And full blown world PK just seems out of the question in this game.
I personally like PvP, especially full blown PK content in specific areas(ala Runescape 2002 Wilderness). I just don't see it working beyond either random PuG or LS based instances via something like Ul'Dah's Gladiator arena.

Yoshi already said there would be no open world PvP. We get PvP in specific zones like the arena in Limsa.
So you want most servers without the arena and specific server with the arena?

There is no need a for pvp servers.
Two PvP venues: The Coliseum and Frontlines. The first will be a floating arena-like system, the second a full time dedicated PvP area with factional warfare between the Grand Companies taking control of a number of forts to gain resources. You can even summon captured Primals in there.

Yoshi mentioned CTF and TD in one interview I can't recall where.
