I just want a large/mansion interior and I don't care what size the outside is; larges have the most unique layout and they are the only ones with an open vertical floorplan to build into.

I'm pretty sure the devs know that a large issue with house sizes is that people want bigger houses. That being said, how horrible would it be if they allow you to upgrade the layout but keep the item limit. Imagine having a large with only 200 item slots. EWWWI really like your idea and I really hope that the housing mirage will be what we hope it will be. But since we don’t know much more, and knowing the devs it might be something in the style of “you can turn your large into medium or small and turn your medium into small while keeping item limit” and you could not turn small into a larger one.
I would laugh through tears if that’s the case.
Actually apartments have THE BEST item to space ratio as you can currently place 6.67 items per block (size of a Floor Mat), while you can only place 2.24 items per block in a large house and this is excluding spaces that you can't decorate without floating such as the large hole on the second floor which many decorators enjoy using the most. If you include that, the item to space ratio for large houses is even worse.
I close off most of the house anyway. I literally just want that vertical space to build into; mediums and smalls do not have that space. If you close off most of the house except for the ground floor and the open vertical foyer, larges easily have the highest decoration to space ratio by a long shot. My medium right now uses all the decorations in a space smaller than the square footage of an entire small.Actually apartments have THE BEST item to space ratio as you can currently place 6.67 items per block (size of a Floor Mat), while you can only place 2.24 items per block in a large house and this is excluding spaces that you can't decorate without floating such as the large hole on the second floor which many decorators enjoy using the most. I think what you mean to say is that larges have the most space, which nobody disagrees with. Item to space ratio refers to number of blocks divided by of items which is absolutely abysmal for large houses. Whether you block off space doesn't change the fact that it's there. Maybe you personally would only decorate the foyer if you had 2000 item slots but many people block off the Foyer because decorating the entire mansion with 400 items and make it look well-designed is extremely difficult due to the poor item to space ratio.
I don't think you understand what blocking off means. I can make a mansion the size of an apartment but with 400 decoration slots. That's like 4x the item to space ratio, right? So what if the space is there? You would have to clip through the walls to access it. The main designed room would have an insanely high item to space ratio; that's the point; that's why I want a mansion and not an apartment.I think what you mean to say is that larges have the most space, which nobody disagrees with. I agree! and I LOVE thse ideas! *licks and massages*Though we don’t have any real details yet, we know the basic idea is that you could have any size interior housing space inside any size house. There’s also been talk of removing pillars, and other interior customization, which may or may not be part of the same project. So what do you want to see?
I’d like to see an attic added to smalls… very simple in terms of layout:
And a similar layout for mediums, with the staircases on the sides of the house instead of the front. I know I’m not the only one who was frustrated with those staircases! lol So what if we tried this?
If we aren’t able to get those kind of custom layouts though, I’d like to be able to add extra rooms to personals like FCs do. But along with that, I’d like to be able to choose where the doorway to the additional chambers is placed.
I’d also like the ability to move or remove interior windows as well as pillars.
A hope is that bright light burning within each and everyone of us!
