Hello, I am new to the forums. I mostly make these suggestions because I think it would help add to the variety of what characters look like within the game. I think expanding the trait pool outside of just adding new hairstyles regularly would help immensely. I don't claim to have very much game development knowledge, so I understand that some of these suggestions may be incredibly difficult to implement even if they seem simple on paper.
Here are some suggestions I have thought of over time:
- Universal Muscle Tone Slider - Currently (as far as I am aware), muscle tone is race locked to Hyurs and Roegadyns. I think it would be nice to add this feature in to other races if possible. It would help add some variety to bodies.
- Unlinking Certain Traits from Facial Plates - Having certain traits linked to a specific facial plate kinda sucks. I know I have seen people talk about how they hate Au Ra horns being face locked, and I have to agree there. I think this can also be applied to traits like scarring, moles, and racial face paints. It would be nice to have traits like those be unlinked from specific face plates, and maybe just have them under some separate criteria (like horns go under 'Horns' or scarring and moles go under 'Facial Features' or something).
- Enabling Body Scarring - I think it would be nice to have some sort of body scars preset, especially since there are NPCs like Raubahn and Hien who have very clear scarring on their bodies. My suggestion would be having a "Light, Moderate, Heavy" type option.
- Enabling Cuts on Ears - Idea mostly applies to longer eared races (Elezen, Miqo, Viera, Hroth), and I'm currently not sure how well/applicable it'd be for races like Hyur/Roes since they just have plain human ears. I won't say it can't be done, but the limited space might be more difficult considering earrings/their placement has a lot less space to work with on a smaller ear. But regardless, I think it'd be something cool to see and would add for some variety in traits.
- New Face Paints + Double Paints - Preferably, NON-MOGSTATION face paints. I know one that comes to mind would be a proper, under the eye/on the cheek sports paint (like the type baseball or football players wear to help with the sun). Single bar, double bar, or a more smeared/smudged look would be 3 different ways to add that single idea in. A similar idea in regards to face paints would be allowing the option of wearing 2 different face paints at once. For example, this could allow a character to have "freckles" and then some other face paint on top of that instead of having to choose one or the other.
- Neutral Lighting Background in the Character Creator - Is it bad to want a cool, light-gray background with relatively neutral lighting to see my character in when I make them?
I think that is all that I have for suggestions at this time. I apologize if anything seems muddled or messy.
