You realize that, that philosophy can change and most likely has? Idk if you even pay attention to WoW, or care to. But we had a recent isssue with out of game over lays for WoW. which is universally being canned by the devs and players.

The same plugins still exist for FFXIV and nobody is going to reign those in.

Plugins that call out safe spots for you are now even shown in guide videos to fights. Surely this has no influence on anything.

Whats funny Cactbot is more or less just DBM from WoW, but more so, Splatoon is similar to a addon for WoW that was developed during Wrath of the Lich King called AVR (Augmented Virtual Reality).
Difference between Splatoon and AVR is that Splatoon actually works way better than AVR ever did, and AVR was banned all the way back in WotLK by Blizzard. Anytime a addon makes its way to do what AVR does, it gets banned or patched out fairly fast by Blizzard. SE turns a blind eye to all mods/addons/Plugins, unfortunately.
