Or maybe you have 0 credibility thus no one cares, you literally insulted a disabled person and are telling them they shouldn't play the game because it hurts your feelings. If I am going to be posting on these forums, it will be about third party tools. No other dialogue about this game is pressing enough to me to address. I'd rather be playing the game or doing something else than posting on forums personally.
So yeah? With your post count though it makes sense that you care about the forums a lot and maybe can't wrap your head around the idea that someone would use them as a tool solely to address a specific problem they have with the game.
I said "skill issue" to someone whose only mention of their "disability" was "I use addons for accessibility issues". It's fair enough for me to not assume they are disabled because they have accessibility issues with approaching ultimate raids in this game. If you read their post history that's the level of content they are doing. It's normal to have accessibility issues with the hardest content of this game. It is most often a skill issue.
You can try to twist the meaning of my statement and make me out to be some boogie man, but I don't care. It just makes you sound pathetic to me.

Man, when you think you've seen the bottom of the barrel for FFXIV discussion and the most unhinged person this week just pulls out yet another barrel from behind your ear. I'd be surprised if I wasn't so dead inside.Hey, just so you know who you're wasting your time with, check out their other thread where they accuse a disabled person of faking being disabled and then when called out double down on it.

What a shame.
Hear me out. You know that some time ago there was a huge boom of players coming from WoW to play FFXIV?
We were all happy that we got so many new players to play with. And also happy that our game has a better community than WoW.
After some time people in FFXIV started using addons a lot. Just like WoW players did already for years.
Basically WoW players had to bring their addon community to FFXIV.
Now new WoW DLCs and servers are coming out and most players are returning to WoW.
They have literally destroyed our community with their addons and are going back to their own game.
Everything wrong with our community now was WoW players' doing all along.
They came here and antagonized our community to itself by splitting it into sides of addon-approvers and addon-enemies.
If SE doesn't do something with it and won't take a proper anti-addon or pro-addon stance, we're gonna end up like Karellian race here.
...Thanks for hearing out my conspiracy theory.

I think he just doesn't quite understand that there is a difference between casual raid statics that are happy to progress at whatever pace the members manage to and require nothing...and hardcore progression raid statics that want to finish the raid in a week, those requirements apply to the latter.

All these threads do is make me want to start using damage meters myself.

I don't care who uses what. Cosmetic or otherwise. I will say that using a damage meter in normal dungeons, which at this point with everyone overgeared are not that difficult, is a bit much and unnecessary. I have no idea if that's actually happening, but if it is, I would agree that's dumb. I still wouldn't call for a ban, though. I just think it's dumb.
However, if you are playing savage/ex or ultimate, I honestly think you SHOULD be using meters because that kind of content requires optimal play out of everyone engaging in it. And since I don't play that kind of content, third party tools don't affect me. So, knock yourself out!
Clearing savage doesn't even come close to requiring optimal play. You have to do your rotations correct kinda, but the main thing is just doing every mechanic right. If the whole group does all mechanics, you will clear the content. Sure, you have to do your rotation correct and understand your job, but you don't have to play it optimally at all.I don't care who uses what. Cosmetic or otherwise. Damage meters should never be encouraged, especially not by someone who doesn't even step foot in the content.
and yes, people are absolutely parsing queued normal content.
