2.0 PvP and Specific Servers

Well PvP is coming to FFXIV, and whether we like it or not. PvP isn't as little cared about as it was when XI was around. It is pretty much expected now with any MMO. My question is should we get PvP specific servers.

Is it gonna be more like Ballista from XI, or more like a Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag etc?

Also does anyone know if PvP is going to be released upon 2.0 or is it gonna be way after 2.0?

i would assume a little bit after release. and i bet anything there will be several different modes of pvp, capture the flag among them. judging by scale/design of some of the areas in the concept art

Don't think we are going to get PVP specific servers just because the fact that ffxiv PVP is not open world PVP where you can dual someone or kill people that are fishing and such lol so ya no need for servers like that. Main focus for FFXIV would always be PVE and PVP would just be there for the few people who enjoy it.

Depends all the pvp stuff i've seen written about suggests its limited to certain areas which would mean there isnt a need for specific servers.
If this turns out not to be the case then im sure like any other mmo there will be an option to eaither turn it on or off, or dedicated servers.

So at the end of the day doubt there is anything to worry about or even talk about on this matter.

separate servers for pvp. sorry when i think FF i think group of friends not pvp.

I doubt there will be server specific PvP, as far as I know the nations aren't looking to go to war with each other.

it wont be server specific because it wont be open world, yoshi was pretty forthcoming about that much of it

PvP is going to be specific events, not open world. Specific servers won't be needed.

There are still bandits in FFXIV... PvP doesnt just have to be faction based. Welcome to the MMO genre.
