like, i want to make things clear: if the devs did something about the latency issues and the people who were using third party tools to cheat at this event i’d have no qualms just doing this with other people, it’s just as a console player the event is not fun dealing with both the terrible latency and constantly feeling like the person you lost to might be using third party tools to get an advantage.

I need to git gud but I tried one run with the controller and there is a big difference between how easy it is to move your character in different ways for example automatic change of direction (idk name of that debuff something "forced..") and I think it already very big disadvantage for controller players. At least i was used to play on keyboard since i was young and i think with controller even for experienced player it must be much more hard to get trough.

I did it too. But I spend 4-5 days of real-time just connecting to the game with the hope that people at 3 am will be lazy. Which was right. 3-7 am was the best time to connect and most fair.

Late reply but it's definitely not impossible if you put your mind to it!

For reference I grinded the achievement in late November. I also DC travelled to a low pop server (I think it was Dynamis). I got around 10 wins in the first week on a high pop server with 24/24, but it was much easier after I DC travelled cuz each instance I was only competing against maybe 5-10 people per instance. I did not play at ungodly hours of the night, did not force solo instances, I took lots of breaks if I got frustrated. It took me about 10 days to grind out the remaining 90 wins. My latency/ping is about 80-90ms (I live on east coast unfortunately).

At the beginning it was very difficult to understand the hitbox/pattners and how it works but once I got proficient (maybe after like 40 wins) I was averaging maybe 5 wins an hour.
Rounds 1-2 are really just testing raid mechanics. Latency is about the same if not exactly the same as raid. Round 3 is testing foresight, you need to have roughly determined your path within 3 seconds of the round starting.
