    Linkshell caps?

    If its been discussed already please point me in the right direction.

    My question is if in 2.0 we will be able to have more than 128 people in a Linkshell?

    Does anyone know?

    theres really no reason why you would need more than 128 members in a shell in the first place. no content would ever require near that many people

    I don't see the need for more than 128, if you have that many there is a good chance not everyone is active, problem is right now there is no way to remove those inactive players.

    I think that's all we need, I sure wouldn't grumble if they increased the number though.

    Please do remove the ls cap. We have a linkshell remade now and already full within a week. Were now opening a second shell just to accommodate the members of our community. Some people have bigger communities than 128, and why should it bother those that don't want that many? It's players choice to join a large or small shell and won't take many resources to remove the cap.

    I doubt they will remove the cap, as I believe they are aiming to push large communities into the Free Company model, keeping linkshells for smaller sub-communities. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

    I interpreted it in the reverse way. Linkshells are for large groups, while free companies are for smaller ones.

    You can only be a member of one Free Company, but you can be a member of several linkshells. By that fact alone, it should be clear that Linkshells can be larger than Free Companies.

    I do think 128 is a tad restrictive.

    I guess it is possible to interpret it that way. I don't follow your logic, though. It still seems to me like the 1 free company restriction indicates that it will be the greater force, especially since linkshells will be downgraded to merely a social environment. Sounds to me like the free company is where you'll go to find others for all that 8-man content.

    Time will tell which of us has interpreted correctly.
