We need a second smol race

As person who has real life dwarfism, I just can't relate to Lalafells. Its more of a "silly" style race, when there are a lack of more serious styled small races.

Its common for us to be memed to death, infantalized, and treated as a punchline, which makes lalafell not resonate with me at all. I feel like if I played such a race, other players would have no respect for my feelings, might call me cute when I'm angry etc. Just like in real life.

I don't care if its cute, I just want it to be more respected by players as a serious thing. If we had playable Burmecians, Nu Mou, Ivalice Moogles, etc. It would be much more appealing than what we have in my opinion. Not trying to start anything, and before anyone comments, I KNOW the devs hate new races, I just really want to voice my concern on the lack of small diversity. There really should of been something else to rival Lalafell instead of all these tall race additions.

I empathize with your frustration- being infantilized isn't fun. It can be frustrating when I say something but no one takes it seriously or acts as if I never spoke.
In regards to a new race being added...
The developers have been struggling with the two newer races (especially with hrothgars. They don't seem to know what to do with them. And viera can't even wear hats yet). They also have stated they likely will not being adding any new races. I do support Ivalice Moogles making an appearance in the game in one way or another way, though.

I don't know if I have any encouraging words- lalafell are often used as comic relief. There are short options in the game, but nothing to the extent of what lalafell have. I am unsure if you are open to advice so I will leave it at that for the time being.

I think the Loporrit's would make a great new small player race. If they added them, I would change to one.

Indeed, there are no other options. D: The most I could do is play an au ra female, but I don't feel like that goes with my gender identity. I really appreciate you having empathy for what it is like to be infantalized. Yeah. I remember someone else being upset with the infantilization going on with lalafell in this community. I have heard a common thread of shorter fantasy races not being taken seriously or being bullied. I know some newer games are making strides towards taking shorter people seriously- like balder gate 3 allows for multiple short fantasy race options. FFXIV is 10 years old so I could chalk up a lot of the stereotypes coming from a time that had less empathy for anyone outside of certain boxes... but I also will say it hasn't really changed much in newer updates in that regard either. I think it doesn't help that lalafell are very chibi with their faces (little people have many different face types. Some look older, some look younger than their age- but you likely already know that).

Which is why I keep trying to suggest this. Lalafell are a bit offensive by themselves. A second small race would make it more inclusive and kind to people.
