When did I say that was what I expect to happen?

Im saying the typical "If they dont do x, I quit" attitude. It doesnt do anything but try to make one look like they matter. Not saying that you will or dont will but just making such statements are hollow and people wont care, so it pointless to say things as if they hold any weight.

I personally highly doubt that SE would actually rework the healers despite the years of criticism, the SAMs are way more coordinated than us in their displeasure and they still haven't gotten SE to even address Kaiten besides once (in passing). They're also unlikely to address the diluted job identity either, they seem to be perfectly happy to alienate people who used to enjoy a job in favour of remaking it into a vapid and empty job that anyone can pick up and play (excuse the salt, I'm a HW MCH enjoyer).

While SE has shown that they're content in simply tripling down on the current design for another expansion, I do hope you at least get a better SGE. I personally have completely given up on healers now, I'm already sick of people telling me why I can't have anything I want because the casuals will struggle to meet a non-existent enrage. I'm just going to enjoy MNK and RDM because they actually require some amount of brainpower until SE inevitably decides that those jobs need to become vapid and empty too so everyone can enjoy them.

Call me negative nancy if you will; but part of me thinks it really is what CBU3 try to do: replacing players like you & ty with the brand new tadpoles that barely knows the history of jobs lobotomization, homogenizing, and such—hoping to drown us in the sea of mediocrity.

Seems to me they’re succeeding in doing that—at least toward ty based on the OP.

Frankly though, I STILL find things to enjoy in-game. But definitely aren’t coming from PvE for the most part. It’s the social aspect for the most part.

I remember reading another forum poster’s quote sayin’ something along the line: “FFXIV is like a cheap cafe. Foods are… acceptable, or bad. But if you got friends with you, it can be a nice place to hang around, until they’re gone.” — and it personally rings true to my own sentiment.

I’m probably not exactly the type of player they’re trying to replace—but I’m also not in the group of players they’re trying to attract, so I can't really answer your question. With that being said, moving on is very unlikely for a person like myself who’s tend to be very attached to one game at a time. I’m bad at multi tasking games.

So long they do not mess up -that social aspect- of this game (unlikely IMHO), chances are high I’ll remain here. But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop $h!tt!ng on… say, things like their designed healer gameplay, post patch 6.3 FL Shatter map, etc.

Oh, they can go ahead and replace me with the tadpoles, I've already quit savage and ultimates, the new tadpoles can go ahead and enjoy the sterilised job gameplay in the boredom that is current savage design. I now only play to hang out with friends and I live for crystal tier ranked PvP, that's still fun and enough to keep me around.

I do hope that the people who cheer for the alienation of veterans will eventually realise that new players are a finite resource and have no loyalty or attachment to the game so constantly making the loyal veterans quit will eventually end up very bad though.

But what if they become loyal and attached? Many of them may not, but some of them definitely do because I meet them in the novice network and elsewhere regularly.

Anyway, I don't think they should alienate veterans but rather try to give people choice. A simple version of each job and an advanced version of each job that both amount to the exact same potency is the idea I thought of to solve this problem and then people can choose what they prefer, the same way some people choose BLM over RDM or SMN because of the movement challenge.

See, this is the kind of attitude I can respect. You admit that while there is a lot you'd like to see improved, there are things that keep you here. The mochachino types that just spew hatred for this game constantly can't even admit that they actually love the game, even when they dislike parts of it.

There are many things I still enjoy about the game, it's just unfortunate that the one thing I care about the most has gone from being praise-worthy for the first six years of this game's lifespan to embarrassingly bad.
