Caimie Tsukino's demo videos to craft Expert Recipes in 6.51

I think a lot of ppl are still struggling with Expert Recipes, so I decided to start my own YouTube channel. It's my first attempt of taking videos of myself crafting, so please pardon the unprofessionalism. Using the in-game chat box, I tried to explain the thoughts that went through my mind to make decisions on what buttons to press when I craft these recipes. I think some ppl may benefit from the insights. It's a very clear demo of how the "Free Flow Style" manual crafting should be like... which one can pretty much make use of whatever condition that comes, and even to develop "foresight" on what may come or what one may need a few steps ahead of time.

Thank you, that's a good way to show the reality of master crafting and how it looks like. From what i could see, it really feels like it's about making decision, and the new craft status does clearly increase this idea. Also, demystifying it make crafting less scary

    I really prefer to read.

Is your expert guide still available?

Nope, it's a dead link. ffixrealm is completely dead. I have made copies of my previous work. But those are vastly outdated anyway. I should create a new one on this forum, but I've been pretty busy with work lately... and my daughter just got sick as well... Perhaps later in late Nov when I have more time, I should write a new expert recipe guide.

I just wanted to add to the conversation about expert recipes. I crafted a lot of these to sell, giveaway, etc of all 3 tiers. One of the keys to success is to not undervalue Precise Touch with Innovation up. Of course, luck plays a factor in a lot of these synths.

Of course, we want to use Master's Mend on a Pliant and Manipulation on a Pliant or Primed. When Primed comes up outside of that, I tend to use it on Innovation. It is fairly common to see a "good" pop up during those 6 steps. With the Splendorous tool bonus (1.75x quality on a good), it is common to hit 2000 quality on 1 Good with 10 stacks. That's huge.

When doing the Aetherial Arbor synths, we have the benefit of Good Omen. Depending on where I am in the synth, if I see Good Omen coming and I'm not at the point where Byregot's Blessing will finish the synth, almost every time I'm using Innovation -> Precise Touch. If I'm really lucky and I already have Innovation up, I'll use a Great Strides on the Good Omen and land Precise Touch for 3500 quality.

I used to just spend Precise Touches on Goods until I got to 10 stacks. Until I realized that Precise Touch has such high efficiency. Depending on circumstances, Preparatory Touch would probably yield about 4500.

I've also found that there are two thresholds you should look for... whatever it takes to finish with Great Strides/Innovation/Byregot's... or Great Strides/Innovation/Byregot's + Good. Anything between those is a waste of durability and CP that you could use to bait a Good.

Let's say that you net about 3900 with GS/BB and 6900 with GS/BB/Good. If you need 17000 (smaller fountain parts), your goal is 13100 or 10100. I get to 10100 and then I take stock on my current status (durability, manipulation stacks, CP, progress, quality). If there is simply no way I'm going to get another 3000 quality with what's left, I immediately go into "bait for good" mode. Innovation/Great Strides... Careful Observation... Observe... refreshing Great Strides/Innovation... if I run out of CP for Observe and I have durability left, I'll use Final Appraisal and Basic Synthesis to burn a step for 1 CP (Keep in mind Final Appraisal wears off once it stops you from finishing, so you'd have to refresh it once more).

The idea is... Good/Good Omen happens often enough that instead of pushing for the extra 3000 quality and burning your resources... unless you are confident you can get that 3000, your odds are probably better to NOT bother pushing further and just bait the good. At least it is easier to plan on the last two expert recipe tiers since Good Omen lets you know when a Good is coming.

My partner also found that using Careful Observation on a 'Good Omen' shifts the 'Good' condition to the current step. This can help if one has no cp to bait one more step for 'Byregot's Blessing' or only have one more 'Innovation' step left.
