Should've been more specific. I know there's always gonna be a Reddit post of "this person is cheating!". But have you guys actually seen cheaters in action?
The way a select few talk about it, it's as if it happens every game.

Cheaters aren't going to make it super obvious they are cheating, and some cheats are just inherently more subtle than others.
The game having no measures against cheating just means there will always be the possibility that someone else is cheating in a minor way you can't really notice.
Of course there is also the possibility of people just being paranoid or can't handle losing as well.

Just because you don't see someone running around at mach 5 or flying through the air doesn't mean there are no cheaters ,it could be something as minimal as giving themselves additional 10% movement speed, and that being enough.

The reason why I'm still playing here instead of having a lv60 warlock in WoW classic era is because of those RMT bots who flooded the server with gold and made GDKP the only way to obtain loot (Aka gold buying the loot that drops)

Nope, it's definitely not dealt with in WoW, and I hope Microsoft do something about it.

Gold farmers and speed hacks are not the same thing at all.

And for that you can kinda blame Blizzard with the option to buy gold on retail via the wow token. People are accustomed to buying gold over there. Of course they'll continue doing so even in classic.

I dont think you play wow, the second you fly hack, speed hack or anything alike in WoW you get instant banned because of dead zones, while in FFXIV you have flying lalas all over the place (over 150 on Dynamis at night and that's just for new gridania marilith)

I dont think FFXIV has any lesson to give to WoW in regards to fighting RMT and botting/cheating, it's all over the place, while in WoW it's actually dealt with.

While I'm not a fan of any Blizzard games creatively, I respect that they actually put significant resources into fighting against cheating. They even sued some of the biggest cheat makers to stop their activities.

Square just don't fight for the integrity of their game at close to the same level. I think the relatively clean JP datacenters make them greatly underestimate the problems overseas.

People have been botting everything, going out of bounds, speedhacking, etc forever on NA/EU. I don't think these regions even have their own dedicated task force to monitor this stuff and learn the patterns of popular bots and cheats.

they do not. they have four people... for the entire planet. Their "Special Task Force" as they call it, is four whole people to deal with bots from 28 servers. All reports are required to go through them, the GMs in game are authorized to do nothing. I doubt the JP data centers are all that "clean" personally, maybe they are, likely 4 people could take care of those... but they fail utterly outside of that. Its my biggest beef with the game, you think the forums are bad for moderation, the game is as bad for bot/cheater control outside of Japan. all they seem to go after is the low hanging fruit.. namely the RMT barkers in the cities.

even when detailed observations and reports are sent in to the STF, the people are still botting years later. whatever they are doing, it isnt enough for all the data centers.

as for Blunderville? the misdirection thing always messes me up and that seems a common thing in the game, and for me yes, thats a skill issue, but I will never rack up a win lol.

There's video of the cheat mod in action on Reddit so I'm not clear why anyone doubts people are cheating. This completely zaps the fun out of the event and needs to be fixed ASAP.

There's no doubt about cheats being a thing.
But there is some doubt in how common cheaters are.
I still have not lost to a cheater and I have about 150 wins.
Not every person that runs better is guaranteed a cheater.

I got a chuckle out of the video on the subreddit right now of people using the instant leave/join plug in to try and guarantee a solo instance. Was a surprising amount of people doing it in that video.

Yeah, that's kinda questionable and I dislike it because it makes the lobbies take longer to form. But these people are not cheating in runs. Since they only play solo runs.

Yeah, didn't mean to imply they were cheating. Just making note of how there's like 3 different angles people are coming at Blunderville to try and get this title and it seems to be getting worse. lol Cheaters, Solo Chasers and... actual players.
