If they did, it would spoil some of the story ahead of time by making the conclusions obvious because of what comes next. Given WoW doesn't care about its story as much, they don't have to worry about it as much.

Actually, we sort of knew this already in ARR and Heavensward.

While going through ARR, Ishgard stuck out and it was so obvious you were going there. You also visited Little Ala Mhigo and learned about their troubles, so you knew you were going to Ala Mhigo. The Far East was discussed in ARR by Yugiri and in various sidequests. The First was discussed in Heavensward's patches. In fact, there are references to the events of Endwalker in a Heavensward cutscene.

So we had all the future expansions teased by the time of Heavensward and I knew we were going to visit them all at some point and in some order.

I expected the next expansion would be to Ishgard because it was announced, then Ala Mhigo and then I expected The First to happen around 10 years from Heavensward but it was a lot earlier than I expected.

So SE planted all these seeds back in ARR and Heavensward and acted on them. Now we had some similar seeds planted in the cutscene before The Dead Ends dungeon that SE has already acted on. You could argue SE sort of does it.
