I have the coat, the required matches could easily be halved, I wouldn't care at all, it's a pointless afk grind item that can't even be dyed, hell, give it away with 1 win for all I care, non dyeable gear belongs in the garbage bin anyway.

I got my coat ages my ago so thankfully I haven’t been affected by this sort of thing. That said it does seem unfair that the achievement is tied to a specific PvP mode, despite those PvP modes now being available on a daily rotation. I think even just changing it to ‘100 Frontlines Wins’ would make it much more reasonable given how things work now.
Coming 1st in Frontlines is more random chance than anything else lol, so it’d ultimately just be about engaging with PvP frequently enough to get the reward.

Changing the requirements to just 100 frontline wins total would still be too easy, I'm thinking you could easily just replace the achievement reward with a mount like the other maps
Have the set be a reward for winning 300 total frontlines

That's the opposite of helpful. Right now the requirement is 100 Seal Rock wins, so on average requires 300 games. (And as a non-enjoyer of PVP, that goal feels like a "too much tedium to even be worth aiming for" goal rather than one that encourages me to participate.)
Changing it to 100 total wins makes it no easier, just alters which duties need to be run, and 300 total wins would multiply the average number of games played to 900 – if you win the average number of games.
There is not a single other piece of gear that exists in the game with such a long and non-unsynchable grind. The current requirements, let alone tripling them.

Does it really make sense though to expect that this reward is adjusted for those people who don't even enjoy PvP? That doesn't seem reasonable. Don't forget, there are other rewards that are already there - the daily roulette, plus other rewards that are easier to get that include mounts and glamour. That's the opposite of helpful. There are rewards in PvE that are far harder to achieve and typically unless someone has the time to invest (and often, the skill) they just won't get those rewards.
Except as others have said, winning in Frontlines is RNG at best. As a single player you can't guarantee a win no matter how skilled you are. You can also just AFK your way to 100 wins. There's no skill required for that reward, unlike many others in the game.
It’s not entirely RNG. It’s about the team play and how to deal with certain situations as a group. RNG comes with who you’re paired with within your alliance, do they know how to play their classes and aware of what to do? Are they using their utilities efficiently? Are they “Good” players? etc etc…
As for being a Skilled single player, you can step up and take the lead. You might think this is silly but, a lot of people need someone to lead them no matter how good/bad they are. Working as a group with proper coordination in Alliance Chat will most likely give you a win! (Unless there’s the IDC & I’m here for daily roulette people). Believe it or not some people will follow you just for having BH5 mark next to your name, it gives the feeling of “this guy knows what to do”.
Keep in mind that, you AFKing, is holding not only yourself, but the other 23 players from getting their desired rewards.
That out of the way I’ll head back to what OP said. Island sanctuary isn’t my cup of tea, not the slightest, But i like the glams and mounts you can get from that type of content so what should i do? Either force myself to grind and get what i want, or just accept that i won’t bother and move on. Now there’s a third option! I get quite entitled and ask the devs ro make it easier for me to get and invalidate the hard work of people how enjoy/forced themselves with this type of content.
The only thing that should be changed as many have said before me is that make the Field Commander set dyeable.

I think the achievement is great as is. It should be a good reward after a long time of winning, not easy to obtain! Some achievements should take months or years for prestige.

I dislike Island Sanctuary with increasing intensity, dragged myself through it for glamour, and I am perfectly happy for the devs to review and shorten the grind for anyone else who has to be put through it in future.Island sanctuary isn’t my cup of tea, not the slightest, But i like the glams and mounts you can get from that type of content so what should i do? I'm not looking for "validation" from a videogame, I'm looking for enjoyment. I don't care if other people get the pretty thing too.
I'm not even asking for it to be made easy to get the coat; just a switch from "wins" to "cumulative points" so you make more progress for doing well but not zero if you come second even with 790/800 points.
