Allow Seeker of the Sun miqo'te to have longer fangs

If you've ever actually looked at both clan's skin tones you would know that no, they can not. Just like Seekers can't use any of the blue or grey skin tones, Keepers only have access to redish-brown tones in the last few rows. Additionally all their skin tones are quite cold (and more desaturated) as opposed to the Seeker's warm brown and tan tones.

Yes, they can, because Keepers have browns in their palette of skin colors. Seekers only have browns; a wider range, yes, but only browns. Keepers have blues, grays and browns.

That's the entire point, that Keepers can have tanned and brown skin if they wish. Do they have a lower variety with cooler colors compared to Seekers? Yes, but they also have wider color choices overall. If Keepers had even more brown color variety, then there would be no point in the Seeker's skin tone options, as it's, again, limited to different shades of brown.

Your initial comment alluded to how Limsa catgirls are all Seekers because they can be tanned but the truth is that you can be tanned as a Keeper too, and you literally replied to a Keeper with dark brown skin.

So yes, Keepers can look like a Seeker: they can have tanned and brown skin, even if their choices are lower in this specific color range. But they also have other choices like blue or gray whereas Seekers have brown only. A Seeker cannot even try to get a look similar to a stereotypical Keeper.

To provide another example, just look at the image below showing a tanned male Keeper:

As aceeko said in post #12, that would make Seekers pointless besides lore, as there wouldn't be much distinguishing them besides the more variety of browns Seekers have.

Please check the OP and post #6 where I outline the differences between each clan.

Eyes are the main feature that distinguishes them due to their diurnal and nocturnal habits, but there's also others like skin tone options, distribution of racial tattoos, and finally the longer fangs for the Keepers.


The entire point of this suggestion is just to provide an extra option for Seekers that doesn't even have to be a default but something you'd have to actively choose in the character creation menu if SE implements it right.

There's been plenty of threads and posts in the past asking for the option of fangs for both clans so this isn't even anything new. In fact, many of these posts are tied to a bigger desire from the player base to have the character creation overhauled and expanded, yet it has not been updated at all or with very minor additions like the new beard option for hyurs as a face type... so while this goes a bit beyond the suggestion laid out in this thread, it's high time SE updated the character creation menu.

Yet they ignore the fact that while lore is fine and dandy.

Players act in specific ways. Lore be damned.

If lore was important to those in the thread, they wouldn't be asking for Fangs, as that would be basically be The Racial Trait like they try to attempt to push as the Mooncat eyes being a major reason why players choose mooncat.(while the likely hood being that they prefer mooncat cause of the mix and variance it has to the Highly Catgirl Aesthetic in Media of Slitted eyes.)

They don't necessarily go mooncat for the expected look.

You're all just want Clan Homogenization.

If Suncats had something mooncats wanted, the situation would be the same.

It's the Cake and Eat it too situation.

When it would please all players if you can have both eye options on both clans, as well as Fangs.
(but they keep using the lore defence, rather than seeing, that lore has no real effect in a give clan feature to the other clan ask, cause they want it.)

It's basically just Clan Homogenize or accept that the clans are different, and it won't always go our way unless the devs cave into something.
(which they really don't want to cave in on Fantasy styles they set up. like with tank gears being only on tanks. unless they choose to ignore it, or let the npcs break that rule)

This isn't a lore ask.

It makes perfect sense as a lore ask to me.

The defining traits that differ between sun and moon cats is their skin colour and marking colour, whether their catlike eyes are slits or dilated, and culturally Moon Keepers have a black forehead gem option on every face.

Fangs, as a more basic physical change, seem more like something that should define Miqo'te from other races rather than clans within the race.

(On the same line of thinking, it has never made sense how divided-up Au Ra traits are either – but that's even more extreme with only males getting the weird traits: Raen's purple tongue and Xaela's dark eyes. I'd say give the purple tongue to all four models and the dark eyes to both genders of Xaela.)

Yes! That is something we should definitely have. I've always wanted to use the blackened ears with the haircuts that don't have them. Ideally we'd be able to choose the color of the spots, too. The character creation menu needs a rework ASAP.

This suggestion would not change the unique aspects of miqo'te as a race though. If anything, it would strengthen them by making them the only human-like race with fangs besides hrothgar's longer ones. And even then, the lore still stands if a player so wishes. But the lore also says that there's mingling between both clans in some cases, which should be reflected in the character creation.

What we could get is more overall options both for the race and clans such as more tribal markings, skin tones, etc.


I will say though that I get the feeling that some replies in this thread come from those who haven't actually read the different posts with the arguments in favor of the suggestion, because it looks like they are being completely ignored.
