I wanna see what the Lalafell ones look like. I bet they look cute. ^^

I think at this event it was just said that there will be female/male counterparts to every race and sub race like highlander. We did vote on adding a new race to the game, but that's up in the air on them being playable in the near future. In this game it would be difficult to add new playable races after 2.0. It's not like other games where you pick a race and you just level that one class that you chose.
Also, there are a lot of edits needed for all the equipment models and motion capture for the new races. Unless they are ridding that from their process in creating new character motions. It isn't needed for all of your character's motions, but it does help tie in together with the artificial ones.
I believe you're right.
The area map they showed appears to be an updated version of the 2.0 design for Coerthas Central Highlands. The old version can be found in the "New FINAL FANTASY XIV Outline" (5th slide) and the "New FINAL FANTASY XIV Planned Content & Concept Art" (17th slide) PDFs found on the Lodestone 2.0 page.

"Completing the quests, getting rewards, huge experience points, or completing a dungeon and getting experience points, that's going to be the key thing to level up your character, not like at the moment where you have to do monster camping or farming, that's not going to work in 2.0."
That's interesting sounds like it's taking more of a SWTOR approach to leveling rather than the XI approach lol. The fact that is says camping and farming mobs is interesting, wonder if it will effect spiritbond parties.
Look more like a WoW Approach where you do quest and dungeon to level up. I myself dislike doing quest and dungeon to level up i would like to just camp and fight i don't see how it does not work in 2.0 it would even work more seeing how we have zones just like ffxi and mobs and you can pull mobs far away without them zoning back."Completing the quests, getting rewards, huge experience points, or completing a dungeon and getting experience points, that's going to be the key thing to level up your character, not like at the moment where you have to do monster camping or farming, that's not going to work in 2.0."

According to Yoshi-p, this is the race-specific gear, not a new class/ job ^^
In this event, Yoshi didn't mention any addition of new races for 2.0 launch, only that current races will have both M/F versions.
And one last thing, Evangelus You Rock! xD
Some nice information there ^^
I can't help feeling like a giddy little kid though yearning for more XD But I'll just have to be patient.
I also like the fact that they're going to add benefits to high level players for helping out lower level characters ^^ It might help create stronger bonds, as players will probably take advantage of that. I cant say I enjoy being left out of things when I was a low level very much.
I feel bad even now, we have so many new players in our linkshell that feel left out when we do our primal runs, while there isnt many fun things that can do at lower levels.

That sounds horrible. In every Final Fantasy the way to level up was with battles. I am fine if content is just an alternative but "not going to work" is not going to work for me. I am too tired of FF14 doing the same borring content over and over again. Things like this is the reason why Square Enix fails imo."Completing the quests, getting rewards, huge experience points, or completing a dungeon and getting experience points, that's going to be the key thing to level up your character, not like at the moment where you have to do monster camping or farming, that's not going to work in 2.0."
They had their success recipe once and then they decided to change things to be more like other games and innovative. Let me level with fighting as I did til now, if I want to.

Is killing the same monster over and over again really any better? That sounds horrible. In every Final Fantasy the way to level up was with battles.
