Chances are they wouldn’t even recognize the voice, same thing with French (and probably German). I know I wouldn’t as I don’t even know what he sounds like (the few movies I saw with him in it were dubbed) and much prefer they use local talent and a native speaker to an American actor who is a non native speaker. It's a very American-centric proposal from OP.
