Criterion savage rewards still suck

Okay so this is in reference to the lodestone post as of today October 31st 2023. accompanying patch 6.51

Item Exchange
By speaking with Trisassant in Old Sharlayan (X:11.9 Y:13.3), players can exchange tokens obtained from completing criterion dungeons for various goods.

Aloalo Manuscripts, which are earned upon completing Another Aloalo Island (Savage), can be exchanged for Flasks of Elevated Ester. This item is required to upgrade weapons purchased with Allagan tomestones of divine comedy from item level 660 to 665.


so basically, if you have the savage or relic weapon then this reward is completly meaningless to you? I may be jumping the gun.. but this imo is just not enough... for anybody who cleared savage this isnt even anything tangible. This is honestly not good enough to endure savage criterion and theyd have been better off adding nothing, cause for 3 kinda players (relic/ultimate/savage) this basically IS nothing

So yea TLDR. I wont be doing savage as this is STILL not enough motivation

I think those upgrade items should drop from regular criterion instead of criterion savage.

Not only should it drop from normal Criterion, it is also entirely useless.

If I'm already ilvl 660 what do I even need further upgrades for? I already overgear everything in the game.
Furthermore it only works on 660 tomestone gear, you can't upgrade savage pieces and you can't upgrade lower ilvl gear. This completely ignores what people have been asking for, making Criterion an additional way to gear up jobs, especially alt jobs which are lagging behind in ilvl.

Sorry but this update to Criterion's rewards is no update at all, they might as well have not bothered.

I think something is always better then nothing regardless of if its a positive however if anyone really expected a change now they're sorely mistaken. This is another test the water change that was something they could do with minimal resource spent. As they are now taking this content into the main pool...they can take the feedback from this now and better tailor it in the 7.X series patches (if they dont fix it there then oh boy)

This glacial pace of them adapting any kind of feedback, and doing it in such tiny, careful steps as to not upset the 'balance' is the real issue here. This feedback has existed since the first Criterion, and we're now on the third of the expansion. How long should we have to wait for them to actually make a meaningful change?

As others have said before, these rewards were made for no one. In order to even get the 660 tome weapon now, you'd need to have done Savage at this point to upgrade from 650. And we're going to have the next relic in January, so from a more casual perspective, what's the point?

They could have made it so regular Criterion could drop some upgrade materials to get tome gear to 660. That would have required basically zero resources spent on their part, and it would have at least been somewhat helpful and get people doing the content. Make it a weekly lockout even.

I actually missed the part where it said tomestone weapon and assumed the upgrade items worked for tomestone armor as well, this new addition to Criterion is even more useless than I initially thought.
