Kind of a shame it's not a permanent addition to Gold Saucer, but maybe licensing issues prevent that?

Yeah, it says "After the initial collaboration event has ended, it will be held as a special event at irregular intervals.", which doesn't tell us much about how often it might come back!

I assume the intention is that it works better if lots of people are playing at once -- it's not much fun to have a "last person standing" contest with only one or two people.

If it's seasonal, more people will want to participate during the time where it is available.

Seems to have been a joint agreement between Fall Guys and FFXIV to have each game running their crossover version intermittently. I suspect on our side it will probably be running during the x.x5 patches alongside Moogle tomestones to give players something to do during the content lulls.
