Controller issues with 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless Controller

As of about 2 weeks ago, any time I click out of the FFXIV window, my controls completely change. The left stick also moves the camera, the right stick only moves the mouse, and all the buttons have different functions that make menus unusable. I tried rebinding my keys, but it's as if the game thinks my controller is a keyboard. For instance, when I press start, the escape menu opens, not the usual controller start menu. I'm using the 2.4GHz setting, not bluetooth, if that makes a difference. It also occurs if I don't take the controller off the cradle before I start the launcher, and it requires a reboot before I can use the controller as normal again.

We would be happy to assist with your concern. Please try the following troubleshooting to see if this helps with the issues you are experiencing with your controller.

- Try to uninstall and reinstall the controller drivers. Additionally, be sure these drivers are up to date.
- Disable all other device drivers, leaving the mouse, keyboard, and your controller as the only devices active.
- If you have a specialized gaming keyboard, we would suggest trying a different keyboard to be sure it does not conflict with the controller in any way.
- Try unplugging the controller and restarting the computer without it plugged in.
- Try using another controller (Preferably an Xbox controller) to see if you experience this issues on that controller as well.

I have been having the exact same problems and after so much troubleshooting I realised FFXIV is the only game I am having issues with. It's so frustrating because it's actively discouraging me from playing the game. Every time I load up I wonder if my controller will actually work. I know the exact pattern as well for this issue... that's how many times it's been happening to me. Edit: also makes me sad because I got the 8bitdo ultimate controller for my bday specifically because I love playing FFXIV on controller.
