Wanted to bring this up to spark up some conversation about the topic.

Background
I started taking interest with in PvP in this game and found it to be quite fun. Especially with Crystaline Conflict. Now, I wanted to try Ranked Play. Trying to queue for ranked CC is my datacenter, Dynamis, has not been a great experience just due to queue times. So, I datacenter travelled to a higher population datacenter where PvP was more active.

I found out that I could not queue ranked across datacenters. After some reading, it looks like you are unable to queue ranked across datacenter travel is largely due to how standing is calculated for a datacenter.

Proposal
Standing needs to be reworked such that players from different datacenters can queue for ranked crystalline conflict from any datacenter. I believe this was one of many things that was overlooked when datacenter travel became available.

Potential Solutions
1. Update how data-center character data is managed to allow queueing for PVP ranked across datacenters and keep current standing calculations as if they were playing from their home datacenter.
Pros
- Least Intrusive. Allows the current standing implementation to be kept while allowing players to queue for ranked PvP, while not needing to implement datacenter queueing.

Cons
- The ranked PvP queuing will be obsolete on the least-populated datacenters.
- Short Term Solution

2. Allow for players to queue for ranked PVP across Data Center and keep current standing calculations. (I know this stems from a bigger topic of allowing queueing across datacenters).
Pros
- Great quality of life to allow players to stay within their datacenters.
- Potential to increase datacenter population due to not having to datacenter travel for content.
- Long Term Solution

Cons
- Larger rework as it involves reworking the queueing system in general.

3. Rework how standing works altogether to allow for PvP queueing across datacenter. The solution may require both rework of standing and game implementation. I did not put a pro/con list because the potential solutions can go anywhere.

Areas of Concern
I know there will be some concern with the following if cross datacenter ranked play is allowed:
- Season Rewards
- Server / Datacenter Uniqueness

But at this time, I think keeping ranked play, or even casual play healthy is more important than keeping the current route of how PvP is managed. Especially since it is a small player base who play either casual or ranked PvP.

Disclaimer
I have no idea how the backend infrastructure works in this game. So, the proposed solutions that are stated may be more involved than at first glance.

This was all I had and actually pretty fun to think about and write. Thoughts?
