    No AoE on low levels feels kinda dumb.

    What is your opinion on Dps jobs that have no AoE abilities on low levels?

    I think they should make all melees get their first AoE on at least lvl 18 and not after 30, or even worse lvl 40 (dragoon)
    .
    It feels just bad to be restricted to single target damage in low level dungeons.

    incredibly painful for Dragoon. by the time you hit level 50, other jobs like MNK have already unlocked its full AoE combo while you're still stuck with Doom Spike up until Sonic Thrust at 62.

    at least i like the sound of doom spike.
    DRG AOE just feels really bad in general lol, wait until 40 to have one aoe skill... awesome!

    This just goes back to the issue of how the game feels for a lot of jobs at early levels though.

    That's an issue that might get more prevalent as the level cap increase, we have a limit on how many abilities we can have on the hotbar and we usually float around the same number.

    That's in general not a real issue. Good use of button substitutions and autoupgrades will keep the number of hotbar actions down. There are just a few missed cases that they need to address (most of them in BLM and SAM).

    AoEs, for example, could be given earlier as weaker less flashy versions, then upgraded to better ones later, which would solve the problem of lack of low level AoE attacks without adding any additional buttons or taking away actions that would be learned later.

    I aggree, the solution will likely be skills upgrading and buttons changing conditionally like RDM finishers.

    Then the skill upgrade won't feel meaningful if it's just the potency increase and no additional effect on top. It will feel the same as all empty level-ups at odd levels.

    Give it a new name and animation and it'll be fine.
    (I don't even care if it's just a potency increase; but if other people need it to get a new paint job, then whatever.)

    It'd be fine... if there were actually enemies worth focusing down.

    But between player potency creep, player sustain creep, and content nerfs... the lack of an AoE does feel a bit awkward, admittedly, as there's no remotely underrated value to blowing a particular target up anymore.

    (Instead, the lack of an AoE skill just really does make you as much less valuable as it would appear to.)

    I'd definitely prefer it if they all had at least one by level 15-30. DRG being the prime examples of suffering without one at lower levels. NIN gets their main AoE combo one lateish too but at least they have Mudras.
