I am aware that, previously, it was well-known that maxing a job's level would give endgame-level objectives in Wonderous Tails, regardless of character progression.

However, the most recent patch notes contain this:

In the event players have not unlocked certain duties, the available objectives will change. (with regards to additions and adjustments of Wonderous Tails.)

Granted, this may be vaguely worded and poorly written, but it implies that progression will affect what duties are given as objectives. Therefore, if a job reaches max level, objectives are still given based on what the character's progression is, not the level reached. Considering the abundance of EXP available in the game, it is quite possible to end 3.0 with a character screen that looks like this:

Wherein multiple jobs will be leveled far above the story progression, or even reach max level, based on the amount of side-content a player chooses to get involved in.

The character above has progressed the story to the beginning of 3.1 (Breaking the Cycle). The Wonderous Tail journal received on 10/17/2023 - post patch - contains the following duties:
  • Dungeons 51-59
  • Dungeons Lvl 70
  • Dungeons Lvl 80
  • Dungeons Lvl 90
  • Dun Scaith
  • Euphrosyne
  • Omega: Deltascape
  • Asphodelos: Third or Fourth Circle
  • Anabaseios: Ninth of Tenth Circle
  • Deep Dungeons
  • The Navel Ex
  • Thornmarch Ex
  • The Minstrel's Ballad: Niddhogg's Rage
  • The Great Hunt Ex
  • Cinder Drift Ex
  • Rival Wings

Note that at least 10 of 16 available objectives are well beyond the character's progression, and thus, have not been unlocked.

The journal was removed and discarded today, 10/28/2023, and a new journal received. The objectives, however, were exactly the same as found in the previous journal.

This does not appear to line up with the latest patch notes regarding the adjustments to the Wonderous Tails.
