Wrong Starting City in New Game+?

Now I recognize it has been nearly ten years, but I'm sure my starting city was Ul'Dah as a Gladiator, and yet when I play New Game+, I go through the Gridania starting city questline. I don't mind it per se, this is more of a curiosity post. But it would be nice to be able to play through the Ul'Dah intro section again as it's been so long and I wish to remember it. I have changed race, and Grand Company to the Adders briefly, but that shouldn't make a difference from my understanding. Anyone else experience this, or is my memory just that bad? :$

if your new game plus starts you in Gridania, then you didn't start as a gladiator on that character.

I'm aware of how the roles play into the mechanic. But I am doing new game+ and have literally never seen these 1-15 quests. I haven't ever played Lancer, started Archer super late, played Marauder only to get the Paladin job when it was still a requirement, and most definitely didn't start as a healer. It seems like a bug, hence my post.

Honestly, human brain dumb, machine brain good, memory probably sucks.

You started in Gridania as per your Lodestone profile, the only way you could have possibly changed the starting city is by creating the character in 1.0 and requesting assistance from support when they were handing out a special type of Fantasia that allowed the starting city to be modified, which was only done at the start of 2.0 for a limited time.

There is no other way to change the starting City of a character.
