I thought mentors getting rewards was considered a bad thing

Entirley subjective and SE doesnt appear to agree (title,glam,mount for the roulette and Glam + mount for the commendation farm)

why would we double down and attract further bad actors?

The NN is its own can of worms. In my time playing trough a few alts I particularly noticed the Ultros and Brynhildr NN channels try to be as sprout-friendly as they can, even with some topic derailing

On the other hand, im not gonna name them, but I also saw a couple servers with NN chats that were straight up disgusting and/or full of spoilers

Beeing able to clear EX,Savage,Ultimate does not prove you're good mentor or cannot be a mentor if not.

Mentoring is about helping new players and They're doing MSQ,Normal content!

What this game need is a global chat(s), so all who enters NN just to chat can go there -
no longer has to fill up the NN!

completing ex's trails is already required. completing currrent ex trails would mean mentors would need to activley maintain there crown once per patch, and also could help players who wanted to get into those es's too

Completing Exs is not required - its ONLY to unlock mentor roulette! (which is optional).

reforming mentor also comes with reforming the roulete lol. NN is 1 part of the massive issue with the mentor system that is griefing players all the way down the ladder right down to the god aweful 2k roulete grind. you cant reform the chat half and not the duty based half

The issue is there is no Global chat in this game!;
NN is kinda is like an global chat if you think about it..
Many become mentors just to keep in touch w friends they made there and to have a "global chat".
(its one of the core issues with the current NN!, along with the rewards)


Also there should have been no title,mount,achi tied to it,
Because mentoring should NOT be about rewards..
It should be something you do out of selflessness!

Crown removed and changed with medal or shield above players head

Doesn't matter if it's a Crown, a Medal, a shield, a watering can, or even a pile of S#$%. People will always use the icon provided as a symbol status if it makes them stand out in the crowd. It's the equivalent of a title but in symbol format.

I disagree with this. I think a crown and the sort of image it conveys appeals a little bit too much to the ego of certain types of players who really don't need any more encouragement to think that their veteran status or orange parse permits them to place themselves on a pedestal above everyone else.

And I do think a global chat of some kind would help alleviate the problems with NN immensely. The actual socialising aspect of this game is pretty poor considering it's an MMO, where the choice is between hanging around the godless wastelands of the main city social hubs or hoping you'll luck out with a decent FC and pray they don't live on Discord like 90% of them out there do, and often people congregate there just to find people to chat to. Giving them an outlet elsewhere would take the burden off NN and allow it to exist for its actual intended function.

Remove the commendation requirement. (it serves no purpose considering players rarely give a commendation "because this player would make a good mentor")

Remove the Crown. There does not need to be a replacement icon. (removes those who want a visible sign of special snowflake status)

Remove the mount for completing Mentor roulettes and give it a different requirement to earn. (removes the "completionists" only interested in getting the mount for their collection)

Replace collectables with Expert crafts on Trade Mentor requirements. (removes those who do the now too easy collectable farm to retain access to a general chat)

Increase linkshell limits - not just the member limit but also the number of linkshells a player can be in. (gives players more options to form their own general chats with friends made in NN or elsewhere without forcing players to give up other linkshells they have for subcommunities like hunts, housing, RP, etc.)

Employees do. Volunteers generally don't. I've donated hundreds of hours of time over the years to various organization without any compensation other than knowing I helped to make a difference for others in need.

Mentors will still get their tomestone rewards for completing content, usually with first time bonuses as well.
