Can we get an update to this quest? I want to go back and complete some of it but the Atma drop rates and the book requirements are atrocious. I want to convince FC members to do this content with me but the grind is just unreasonable considering the content is over 8 years old at this point.

Atma drop rates are already fairly generous. Spend a lazy weekend and you can get all you'll need for 1. Spend a week and you can stock up on all you'll ever need.

Books are never going to change. The way they're structured, there's no means of changing them without actually rewriting/reworking the books themselves. That's work, and work is money, and there's no reason to spend work or money on the content at this point.

Books aren't even the worst part, besides. If you want any actual changes, start asking for a buff to light grinding (it's all solo unsync now anyway, just let us knock it out faster) or ask for more accessible materia I-III grades (I ignore grade IV because the stats don't matter so no reason to go to the effort of putting enough of any stat in to need IV).

Do low level crafts while wearing nothing but IL1-15 gear + Meteor Rings + one lv90 scrip piece. You'll get tons of I and some II materia from that. The only "hard" part'll be the III, but with the amount of Is and IIs you'll get, that won't be a factor. The stats really don't matter, so throw Tenacity and Spell Speed on your spear.

Books used to need 10 of each enemy. Now it only needs 3. Doing more than decreasing it to 1 enemy would take way too much effort.
