For those coming in saying they enjoy it and don't see a problem with it, good for you, keep enjoying what you enjoy I'm not here to dictate your life but personally I have my opinions on the matter and felt like putting it out there.
PvP is a mess in my opinion, and from what I've heard before its never been that great as well. Started in 5.1 so I got my taste of Shadowbringers PvP before it made its way out and frankly I don't remember hating it that much compared to what we have now. The current iteration just feels off, like every class is designed to Duel in The Wolves Den which is where most of this design is actually quite nice but we have Frontline/Crystal Conflict/Rival Wings as our main things to actually do. Nothing I could put in this post to suggest better options would actually keep the main vibe of the current PvP environment without massive changes to things like:
- Making it more in-line with Hero Shooter-esk games, downside is queues are forced to be class based which will have queue issues and meta issues.
- Removing most of the Crowd Control, downside is certain teamcomps will just get smeared due to RNG of not having the CC Comp.
- Having the ability to play with friends for more interesting and fun times without closed lobbies, issues are obvious though can already see the many folks putting together comps to be as sweaty as can be.
The most realistic thing I can think of is just making Standard-Issue Elixir have a cooldown of 45s/60s. Its my most hated part of all of the PvP nonsense, including MCHs being the way it is, DRG being tanker and having more consistent damage without detriment than DRK, WHM Miracle of Nature/Being able to self-cure/its existence the way it is in PvP. Elixir provides a full reset with no cooldown on a 5s cast time(which due to casting mechanics, its less than 5s and you can move while its finishing due to slide-casting.) which is so damn comically powerful that I feel like its justified competitively or casually for it to be changed. Using it will actually put you in a state of needing to play smarter, hell it could even reset Guard/Purify on cast to make it more juicy to compensate for the substantial hit you'll take to being able to run off and full heal every 30s of combat.
Honestly wouldn't be bitching up a storm if the PvP Fortnite Battlepass wasn't a thing that had beautiful sets of armor that are FOMO to I assume make people play their Overwatch 2 Push Game-mode or just do Frontline Roulette for 2ish weeks every day. Either way, its just mostly complaining at the end of the day, like any of this will change but we all gotta vent sometime.
