    Favorite Job? FL/CC

    There's enough debate about PVP's current state of play and how it could be better, so I figured a lighter thread would be nice break from the norm!

    I want to know what everyones favorite jobs (as of 6.5) are to play in both CC and Frontlines and why?. Not based on the current meta, but on what you enjoy to play the most.

    For FL, I enjoy paying GNB the most. Rushing an enemy team with maxed out damage reduction modifiers (Melee DR, Nebula for 20% DR, and GNB LB for another 25% DR) and the retaliation damage off of Nebula make for some wild FL plays and a surprising amount of AoE damage.

    For CC, it's Machinist. The combination of an analyzed bioblaster and bishop autoturret can make for oppressive AoE plays, while being able to keep good damage at max MCH range.

    I really like to play (almost) all PvP jobs as they are really unique, hard to pick a fav but I'd rank them something like this:


    DRG - my favourite (and of many others based on the amount of times I see them in a match) it just feels satisfying to jump across the battlefield

    GNB - probably one of my favs due to the sheer variety it offers and bulk during tank stance with fast pace
    MCH - a powerhouse of a job, flexible with lots of kill potential and very fun to play which is probably the reason you see it a lot in matches alongside DRG
    MNK - the true bulky tank in this mode, I love how you can just do your own thing most of the time to put pressure on the backrow

    SCH - this one really wants you to play smart with your spell spreading and it's fun to utilize the right spell at the right time
    SGE - the hidden glass cannon, I really love to catch people off guard and rush in to secure kills on low hp targets
    NIN - the one job that does it all which is a nice throwback to their elemental veil spells they usually have. Their LB can be very satisfying

    WAR - aka the bully, I play this if I just like to be a nuisance with aggressive style moves
    PLD - has a very interesting defensive playstyle that surely makes you feel like the knight in shining armor
    WHM - can't go wrong as WHM, you can feel the pure power this job offers - simple and effective

    AST - support galore, cards feel nice to play with that RNG and dual cast is nice even though I use double gravity 90% of the time, it's super strong
    DNC - this one is full of surprises, deceivingly powerful and hard to catch with all their dashes which makes them fun to play especially at mid range
    SMN - similar to NIN but more toned down but it's still fun to play as their attacks are very strong

    SAM - I'm bit torn on this one, it does lots of damage but can be outrun on their casted attacks lol
    BLM - I love how this job packs the punch to overwhelm the enemy while teleporting across the field
    RPR - very technical hit and run but also can snowball into victory thanks to their stacks, plus it's fun to score a win by fearing the enemy off the crystal at overtime

    BRD - feels rather awkward as of late, it wants to stay at max range but also get close. Very torn skillset which hopefully get changed someday
    RDM - this one used to be on my top list but fell down rather sharply as of late. It's still strong but somehow feel extremely squishy. Hope they get some love next
    DRK - this one's my least favourite only because I can't wrap my head around the high risk high reward style

    For FL it's SCH because Covid Mage is king with no AOE limits
    for CC it's gotta be MCH

    Currently, RDM. In the off chance I don't get focused and chain-yoinked into a 24-man murder blender like the free walking battle high I am, I do have a lot of fun effectively forcing people to pop guard when they realize there's a RDM about to melee combo their HP into the ground if they don't.

    I wish Southern Star still hit even 10% of the enemies I use it on, though

    I'm not very good at RDM but I kind of vibe with the last part. xD

    For me, SCH (in FL). I love being able to turn the tides of a fight with a well-timed Adloquium/Biolysis spread. The 8% damage increase on Adloquium is kinda slept on by most SCH though since all they see is ‘Biolysis = top damage chart’ (usually with like 0 kills lol).

    I love the animation for Mummification too, because when an enemy gets too close and you use it, it kinda looks like you’re bitchslapping them lol

    Been trying to figure out a good class for CC that is actually good at making pushes and holding the Frontline, while also having a kit that enables my team to do better. Which is not really common and the only job that really does so for me is just PLD since its a decent mix of both.

    Not gonna lie I'm taking a liking to GNB in CC. In tank stance (thanks self junction) between the damage reduction from Nebula and heal increase from Rough Divide, it catches me off guard how many more hits a GNB can take. The healer stance heals 9k per each of its Gnashing Fang combos per player in range (typically your melee?) Helps out against teams with more AoE present (BLMs, DNCs, SMNs, etc.). I doubt it would hold up in high ranked play, but in some of the lower ranked stuff it ends up to be a ton of AoE healing. You also get Aurora, which helps low HP guarded teammates in a pinch if it can get a tick or two of its HoT off including the original heal.
