To my knowledge there is no mention at all of the Allag "taking the Empire to the stars" or anything, their spacecraft were essentially just glorified airships (and even seemed to be used as such - it's what Helix's rotating dock in Azys Lla is for specifically - a dock for Ragnarok class vessels.).

So based on that alone I doubt there is some 'long lost colony world' of the Allag out there in the Sea of Stars... but, who knows.
I never said that there WAS a long lost colony world, just that the possibility is there. With how up in the air the question of how far Allag's Starships could reach, they COULD, very big emphasis on could here. Pull that kind of narrative thread. But...like I said, the idea is ridiculously silly.

I don't want Allag to return as a MSQ narrative thread, but maybe sidequest stuff. Same with Ascians, Ancients, and Garlemald. (Which I think the latest MSQ was to effectively shutdown some fan ideas for stuff to do with Garlemald.) and just focus on...new stuff.

But all I was saying is just...the idea is possible, but highly unlikely.

As long as the main story doesn't revolve around them it's fine. It's pretty hard to avoid mentions of them though and it would annoy me slightly if something came up that involved them and it gets brushed off because people don't want to deal with it.

That's how I feel too. I'm tired of everything being traced back to them, but I also think it's equally as lazy writing to assume their presence is completely removed from existence henceforth for the sake of a new journey. Not saying they need to be here to stay, but I don't see true harm in small connections.

I don't want it to be about Allagans or Ancients. The decade story is finished, let's move on to something completely different with new antagonists.

The "city of gold" was Godbert Manderville's failed attempt to build a Gold Saucer franchise in Tural. It's long been abandoned, and is overrun with murderous Senor Sabotender mammets.

I don't think the Gold Saucer sabotenders are mammets...

Well, they claim to be Lalafells in suits, but can you picture fitting those big round heads into the tiny Sabotender shape without breaking anything?

The only way, would be to find remains of what was of the last survivors or abandoned colony that had nothing to do with major players.
Moreso since we know some lived after the collapse but have since faded.

While agreed that certain aspects get tired and used.

it'd be foolish to think that this star scrapping civilization didn't leave Meracydia or the three great continents.

Long as the major players are long gone.
and it's local populations that had grown after the collapse taking advantage of the remains would make absolute sense.

More So, if the city of gold(as some have said) is a reference to gold being something else than literally.
Maybe Even Ceruleum, or whatever those dungeons contain/are about.

If you want a spring board to jump off, try the new world job, Viper. they can actively channel the aether energy from their job stones to empower themselves. Unlike other jobs where its just inert for them except for an occasional twinkle when a move is learned. Job Crystals, aka Soul Crystals, are very ancient tech of the ascians and allagans. This is also in stark contrast to the other new world job, blue mage, who didn't have a job stone until Martyn happen and was introducing eorezans to that style of magic. Which implies that someone, maybe ancient Mamool Jas, got their hands on soul crystals and started storing information with the viper job. As the vipers job crystal is described as very old.
