Diablo Crossover

Interesting enough, theres been some interviews with Yoshida recently where he expresses his dream collaboration for FFXIV being with the Diablos series.

Now he already stated that implementing it into the world of FFXIV isnt feasible due to the darker tonal nature of the game, so its impossible but I just found it amusing that he chose THAT over World of Warcraft which is the more sensible choice for a collab.

Curious to know people's thoughts on it, on both Blizzard IPs. I personally rather see a WoW crossover if anything but eeehhh theres pros and cons to it anyway.

He's brought up a WoW collab in the past already, hasn't he? But as a sort of pipe dream thing. This is probably another one of those, but far less likely to ever happen because of all the the blood, guts and gore of Diablo.

Under Microsoft a WoW crossover is probably a bit more likely than before, but even though I don't dislike WoW but it wouldn't be my first (or second) choice. Could be fun though.

I wonder what would make sense as a a crossover for both games though? Probably dragons.

I mean they can go the easy route and have Arthas and the Scourge show up since thats the most easily recognizable image when you think of WoW (at least to a lot of people)

Yeah probably, but he's dead-dead isn't he? But maybe that doesn't matter for a crossover. After Arthas I'd say probably Sylvanas is the most recognizable, but I don't know if she's a well-liked character anymore.

I know crossovers are popular, but I generally prefer game devs to focus on building their own game's world/narrative over bringing in fanservice from other games. ESPECIALLY time-sensitive ones which turn into FOMO.

I would love a WoW crossover if only to see all the internet tribalists lose their minds.

If I could get my Darkspear raptor mounts, I'd be thrilled, but I doubt that'd happen.

Diablo? Eh, I've never played it, so whatever, cool free stuff is fine by me.

His dream is having a Diablo collab, because he is a big fan of that franchise and played it a lot in the good old days (1+2).

He even said in the past, he loved to create Diablo Games. Blizzard really need him imho.

I dunno about having Diablo in 14. But if it happened and Diablo 4 got 14 stuff including a quest with a major 14 NPC, I'd nominate Estinien. He"d LOVE that place. Armies of irredeemably evil foes that he can just go complete ham on and not have to hold back? It'd be like all his namesdays have come at once.

She definitely isn't. They did their best to completely destroy the character over the course of like 3 expansions...and don't even get me started on Nathanos Blightcaller.
