I have literally never heard someone refer to the players as "warriors". Always "Warrior(s) of Light", "WoL" for short.
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
Not specifically the player (though the Paladin questline does have Solkazygl refer to the player as a warrior), but I was moreso talking about warrior being a common term for any type of combatant in the FFXIV universe, hence why the heroes of the calamity/the player are referred to as 'warriors' of light.
Then in the Warrior questline the NPC you're with makes a distinct remark about the lost art of the Warriors, which indicates that they can easily distinguish the difference between warriors and Warriors.
My point being, if they can distinguish warriors (as in any fighting man or woman) from Warriors(the job), it stands to reason they will be able to do the same for vipers (the danger noodle) and Vipers (the dual sword and twinblade wielding hunter).
Thank you for the correction! It was more so to distinguish within the context of the post that they're different things, but I appreciate it nonetheless.

The best example of this in action IMO is Scholars, and scholars
