Every job in FFXIV is based around their weapon, and besides Scholar and Summoner who belong to the same base class, they don't really repeat. And with the announcement of Viper, we now have the double sword job. What are we missing?
These are the ones that I can think of:
- Sword and gun;
- Axe and shield;
- Double axes;
- Whip;
- Quarterstaff;
- Maybe curved swords
We can't have more guns because Machinists have all the guns and that includes the crossbow. Maces and mauls are usually skins of tank weapons, so they also don't count. We had card throwing jobs in previous FF games, but we already have Astro, I just wished they would actually throw the cards. So the only option besides the weapons I listed is to add wacky Bloodborne weapons such as the Sage one.
So speaking about wacking weapons, what would you like to see in future jobs? I personally would love a trapper/sapper job with a shovel as a weapon, so I can bonk my enemies with a shovel. I also like the idea of an umbrella for Geomancer and a syringe for Chemist. Maybe gunlance with a harpoon attached? What do you think?
