    Fix the netcode for ranked CC

    I am currently ranked Crystal and am getting fed up that the netcode ruins this game mode.

    It turns a competitive mode into pure RNG. How you ask?
    Everytime you press Guard you gotta ask yourself, "Hmm, will the netcode actually register that I pressed my defensive ability, or will it take two seconds for it to register, causing me to eat 50k dmg while inside this pretty bubble?"

    When the enemy presses Guard you gotta ask, "Hmm, will the netcode register it late and allow me to kill him?"

    Now I am not talking about the scenario where guard and the enemy ability clip through each other, because they were cast at the same time.
    In many of my games I legit had situations where it needed two full seconds to protect me from damage.

    Okay while I understand the general wish for a better netcode and am fully supportive of it, I am curious at what your issues look like in practice and whether or not the issues you have are actually related to netcode, personal network or unrealistic expectations.

    For starters, can you open a command prompt and check your ping (ms) to the following IP address?
    ping 80.239.145.96 (that should be Twintania server or at least a Light server)

    And while a bit of work, can you record a match (with names set to initials only for privacy) so I can see how things look on your end?

    If Guard takes 2s to register, you probably are playing with a serious latency (above 1000ms).

    Odds are the 50k damage were used by other players way before you even pressed the button, more likely.

    It is not because of my latency, many people report this issue and it happens at random. You can write it on reddit, discord or whatever, and you will atleast find 10+ ppl who say "Yea happens to me aswell."
    On top of this, I play many other PVP games, like League, Dota and so on, where I never have these issues.

    Im pretty sure you are not experiencing neither lag nor latency. What you describe ist an actual issue and its about the DMG lock of the game and its the same as in PvE.
    You press your button and the server will lock the inflicted dmg but it will wait to apply it until the animation is finished.
    That results in several attack haveing super long animations and therefore an very long delay until the locked dmg will be applyed.

    For example Smn limit taked literally several seconds to deal dmg after it is pressed but the dmg will be calculated on the buttonpress from the summoner.
    Same for Maschinist Limit - once you see the crosshair you can not reduce its dmg whit buffs or guard, you can only heal up to survive it when the already fixed dmg hits you.
    A good non LB example for this is Macrocosmos from Astrologians - for me that very often penetrates my guard because the Ast already pressed it before i used guard but it takes so long to actaully inflict the Dmg.

    This seemingly intentional design decision is in my opinion more than bad for competative PvP because it greatly robs you from opportuinitys to react and anything without counterplay is just bad PvP design.

    More than likely it's not latency or anything on your end, as it's self evident not only by the 6.5 patch regarding the supposed "fix" to guard , whereas the devs saw fit to implement this without asking why it is their players are button mashing guard that they need to put a delay in but also when it comes to the delay of macros
