[Graphical Update Request] Miqo'te Female Face 4 Misalignment

This is something that's been bothering me for a long time, but I had no hope it'd ever be addressed. But with yesterday's information that there will be some polygon updates to Lalafell faces to enable better shading, I figured now would be a good opportunity.

Miqo'te female face 4 has a minor gap between the lips, that shows a sliver of their teeth from a variety of angles. This is most prominent on dark-skinned characters, since the contrast between skin and teeth is higher. As shown below with mouth 2:





It's not a major gap! But it's visible in a wide variety of lighting and angles, and can be a bit distracting in otherwise serious moments.

I know model fixes aren't the point of the Graphical update, and with the changes the lighting and shaders it might not even be necessary! But without actually seeing my character or a similarly dark-skinned Miqo'te with face 4, I have no way of knowing that.

All I'd really like is for this gap to be closed.

They are whining. The graphical "issue" that is being complained about has existed within the game for years and years prior to the complaint. People just like complaining despite everything Square Enix has done for them.

They have existed for years and haven't been a massive issue, this is true! But they're literally doing a full graphics overhaul for player characters, and are listening to feedback. This is the time to point out minor issues like this, because they're already working to address them.

Yes, it's a minor issue. That's why I never bothered them about it before they themselves decided they'd be updating appearances and making small model changes. I'm sorry this comes off as ungrateful complaining to you, but this seemed like the only time it'd be worth bringing up.

This also happens to other faces such as male miqo'te face 1 and... Alphinaud and Alisaie. Hopefully they'll get a universal fix for every single face affected. Specific face emotes that make your character press their lips make this disappear.

Oh no! I can understand how people would find this annoying but I kinda think it's really cute!

It is cute! Sometimes! But oftentimes in cutscenes, it's just not fitting. The problem is it's Always open, with the default expression. A cuter pursed lips expression would allow this as a gpose option and not look silly elsewhere.

I think it might be as well, but they should fully commit to it in that case. It's such a tiny sliver of visible teeth that it does look a bit odd as is.

This also reminds me of that old post about Keeper of the Moon front teeth being positioned in a sort of triangle when viewed from below, creating something of a gap tooth. I wonder if they're going to be fixing that as well.

I always thought it was related to a small overbite which made the face more unique and cute
but the tooth shape for moon vs sun is a significant texture issue as well as the missing nostril textures for the 1st two moon faces which arent missing in sun seeker faces. The missing nostril textures was accepted as a bug, but I wonder if it'll actually be fixed with the update
