Summoner at 90 without leveling!

I just noticed that my Summoner is at 90. I haven't played Summoner in at least three years, since well before 90 was the level cap. I returned a couple of months ago, it was at 66 (where I left it). I've been getting all my jobs up to 90, but have only managed DRG, all four tanks and two of the healers.

There is no way SMN should be at 90, I haven't even equipped the gear.

Can anyone explain why it might be at 90 without being played? Could my account be compromised, even with a one-time password?

It's the shared base class. Arcanist becomes and therefore levels both SMN and SCH. Can't raise SCH without SMN also going up and vice versa.

You must have got Scholar to level 90, which gets Summoner to level 90 as well.

Don't panic. Checking your lodestone profile shows that one of the healers you leveled is Scholar. Both Summoner and Scholar are linked due to sharing the same base Class of Arcanist - when you level Scholar it levels your Arcanist at the same time, which in turn levels your Summoner as well. You basically got a free Caster DPS job while you were leveling your second healer.

As said above, it is linked to scholar. However, it’s only the xp, it does not complete the job quests and if you left it at 66, assuming you did all the other job quests, you are still missing Summon Bahamut (your most powerful summon) which is acquired doing the lvl 70 quest.

lol, I did the same thing with Scholar, was finally going through different jobs starting to level them and instantly had 30 skills on Scholar and was super confused

brb adopting MariusFrost because it's adorable how he/she/they didn't know about the "level one class, get one class free" synergy between Summoner and Scholar.

No, your account is not compromised. It's just a very special interaction between SMN and SCH where leveling one also levels the other.

One thing to note: you still need to do your job quests on SMN.
