Yeah, I totally didn't equip the fetish harness on purpose... no idea what it was!
Maybe the Alliance Raid should just log players into FFXI with a trial account when the queue pops.
"Which pet do you want, Red Sticks, Chicken Nuggets or Abomination Parrot? None, get out of here with that s***." ~Samuraiking
I have fond memories of FFXI and am very hype for this Alliance raid. I can't wait to get my hands on the gear and music!

Maybe you're thinking of the bone/beetle harness, the scorpion harness had pretty good stats and very few newbies would've even been able to afford one.

We got the Scorpion Harness in XIV already anyway - it's a Eureka thing.

Man I hope the fights will be mechanically interesting (like Ivalice) and not what we got in Thaleia.

The gearsets might be a bit too plain/pixelated with how well they've been doing textures since Shadowbringers. We have a taste of XI gear from Eureka with Osode, Optical Hat, Scorpion Harness, and I think the boots and cassie earring?
They have to put in "E.Body" for the tanks, the drama that one piece of gear created among hardcore nerds was astounding. Knowing how they create these raids, I wonder if we get one where we start in Zi'Tah and we fight our way to Sky and slay Kirin as the final boss. Another we could do is participate in Dynamis Zones all the way until Shadowlord, or the past of the whole War during Wings of the Goddess.
There's so much more in XI that it would be hard to cover all the good parts in three 24 man raids. Also, hope they allow free roam like they did with Nier raid.
EDIT what hurts from this announcement is that we have a full year before 7.1 to even play it. Think about that.

Gear wise:
Tank set - Adamant hauberk set, Haubergeon set, Kirin set, or TOAU sets (since this runs more of the XI and TOAU theme)
Mage sets:
Igqira Weskit set
Dps: still kinda not sure yet since nothing sticks out more than the JSE specifically
---------
Zone wise:
1) Dynamis dream worlds (or even just the main city dynamis zones) + Jeuno/Tavnazia
or
2) Valkurm dunes with the surrounding zones of Konschtat highlands, La Theine Plateau, and Tahrongi Canyon (but requires a manual 24 man shout party in the cities to get a whole alliance together to go lol)
Hopefully not a combination of this aspect of the Nier raids and the underwhelming mechanics of the Myths raids.I hope the new Alliance raid series will follow in the footsteps of the Ivalice raid series, in which it actually contributes lore and world-building to the world of XIV rather than being another Nier-like raid series that doesn't make any sense nor adds anything lorewise and exists solely for the hype and 2B leggings.
Two shards with Humes? Wonder how they'd explain that. Didn't they also joke about XI's races being ancestors to XIV's? What a twist it would be if they flipped that around.
Edit: Well, that confirms the Mithra being part of the ancestor theory. Think the Elvaan at least were part of it too.
