Echoes of Vana'diel FFXI Alliance Raid

That's the big question in my mind right now as well. The two XI crossover events already established that travel between the universes is canonically possible and was even referenced in XI, and we have a character from there currently stranded on the Source. So will we be traveling somehow TO XI's Vana'diel or will be getting a XIV version similar to how they retooled Ivalice, the answers can't come soon enough.

edit: and they've already said the shards aren't other FF worlds so hopefully they don't backpedal on that.

If Iroha was involved in this, I'd be very happy. I still use that armor for my DRG glam. lol And I've been wanting a resolution to that hanging thread for her for forever.

Im curious about if theyre going to address the elephant in the room if they do try to interlink heavily the real Vana'diel to FFXIV with their mothercrystals being 5 for the 5 main races, each representing a sin but ofcourse Hrothgar, Au Ra and Viera didnt exist to have a parallel in its history.

I'd be surprised if Castle Zvahl and the Shadow lord are not in one of the raids, as well as some reference to Dynamis areas. I hope they stick to Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Aht Urghan locales though because those were peak XI days. Wings of the Goddess was okay but that's when XI started falling off.

Hey, Wings of The Goddess had a side fight related to Campaign called Fiat Lux where you could fight the Shadowlord in his Crystal War era glory where he dual wields giant swords and has armor!

Nah, the real question is how a lot of these ppl are going to manage to defeat the Dynamis Lord without RDM/DRK chainspelling stun while a bunch of DRK's hit it with Kraken Clubs while souleater and bloodweapon are active... :P

Eh we're above lv50, it'll be fine. We're in the lv99 cheese strat phase with a bigger alliance.

I hope they can faithfully recreate some of the graphical effect style that I associate with FFXI, like the blurry glowy afterimage stuff that summons have. It always had a kind of pixelated look to it that I'm not sure was actually intentional and was probably just some aliasing that the effect caused. There's also stuff like all the places in FFXI that had a transparent floor and there was usually a visual effect on your footsteps. I can't remember any specific areas in XIV where that happens but maybe it's already a thing.
