Its very sad. JP fanfest looks like its going to be completely stacked unless female hrothgar wont be revealed.

It's not helped by the fact the new scenes in the trailers were... so so. Combat scene with Estinien, longer version of Alisaie and Y'shtola appearance and more of the viper fight. If the last bit at least had some kind of interest, the other one were kinda telling nothing more. I can't feel any hype with this trailer, Dawntrail has some setting I'm really curious about, but all the trailer shows are the people you basically already know everything about. It sadden me their plan for the trailer is to put the emphasis on the old things that are still there rather than the new things. I guess we'll see when we'll have the full trailer, but for now, combining the the two version of the teaser, I've seen them less that the number of time I watched the first endwalker teaser the day of the release. Still curious, but not because of the trailer.
Dev panel on the graphic update was very interesting though.

I would really like to see more real examples of graphical improvements. A lot of the stuff they showed is nice, but it looks like it's happening in a sterile test environment.
Show me this image side by side with the same cutscene with the new graphics:

I just wanted to share how I felt and wanted to know if someone else feels the same. I also need to reiterate that I am not dissatisfied with Dawntrail. I am dissatisfied with the fan fest.Honestly I dont know what OP and others were expecting with this follow up. Almost feels like theyre just wanting 8.0 or something.
What we got here:
1.Viper Job announcement
2.Extended look at the new zones along with a couple of extra ones
3.Echoes of Vanadiel Alliance Raid (FFXI crossover)
4.FFXVI collab announcement
5.Gameplay teaser of Fall Guys collab (looks fun btw)
6. In depth look at the 7.0 Graphical Update between characters and environments (the stuff they showed seriously impressed me)
7. Theyre working on a new Limited Job come 7.x so confirmation that the idea isnt dead.
I fully expect them to show a lot of exciting stuff at JP fan fest. I am just sad that they didn't show more for EU.
About 1: For me personally the job was not my cup of tea. But this is just personal preferences.
About 2: I liked the zones a lot and also enjoyed looking at the aesthetics. But I am more excited about new stuff.
About 3: I did try FFXI back in 2006, but my account kinda didn't work because of the awful launcher and other problems. So i quit.
But I am honestly not a big fan of FFXI. I would like a FFXIV original story more than a story based in FFXI.
About 4: Yeah, i liked that announcement. But in the end it will still propably be only a short event with a trial fight, which might last for maybe a day.
About 5: The Fall guys collab looks fun in my opion, but it me bummed me out that the fall guys stuff won't be permanent. So sadly this announcement was also a bummer for me.
About 6: The time I made this post, they didn't show the graphical improvements. So after seeing the dev panel about graphics I am honestly satisfied with point 6.
I loved that they dedicated time on the panel to show so much stuff.
About 7: Sadly limited jobs are also not my cup of tea.
In the end I wasn't criticizing the game. I just wanted to voice that I personally (subjectively, not objectively) wasn't satisfied with this fanfest.
And I made this post to find out, if there are others who also didn't really get what they want.
If you feel like this announcement had everything you wanted, you are propably a fan of the things I might not like. And this is completely okay.
But for me a lot of those announcements weren't what I was looking forward to.
