Is it possible to remap the controls when playing as Thancred etc.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I think I'm going to just accept that I'll lose ground targeting in Praetorium, and swap the bars. It's 1 & 5 if you're still willing to give me a swap macro.
These play as another character fights are getting more frequent, and really starting to do my head in now

I'll have to figure something else out when I come to do Alexander Savage if the tanks are still an issue

Do consider the [b] option though! If it's a key you don't use often you won't lose much by rebinding it to the 1 slot on your main bar for mount usability.

I still can't tell if your bar 1 is shared or not so here's both versions.

If hotbar 1 is not shared

Run this once on each class/job:

/hotbar copy current 1 share 1
/hotbar copy current 5 current 1
/hotbar copy share 1 current 5

This uses the hidden shared 1 bar as a buffer while you swap job bar 1 and job bar 5.


If hotbar 1 is shared

Change hotbar 5 to shared and hotbar 1 to not shared.

run this just once:

/hotbar copy share 1 share 5

and run this once on each class/job:

/hotbar copy current 5 current 1

You'll seem to lose bars 1 and 5 at the beginning but they've just been hidden, and this will copy them from their old now-hidden locations to their new visible locations.

I did consider the B option, the problem is, and I realise it's not very clear from a top down picture of the keyboard, but I'll end up going for it with my thumb if it's there, and B is not really pressable with my thumb as there's quite a significant difference in the angle the keys lie at. I'd post a picture that makes it make more sense, but my keyboard is 17 years old (not a typo) and looks horrid

Macro makes a lot of sense, I didn't realise there was a copy function. I'll set about swapping those over and see how it goes. Sorry to anyone who meets me in Praetorium for my upcoming lack of ground strikes

Edit: Thinking about it, you need to use mouse for ground targeting anyway, so clicking it isn't too bad
