Request: Unlock Grand Company Gear so it is usable for all

Hello,

The Grand Company equipment has been a longstanding feature, and since its initial introduction, it hasn't seen much expansion. As a result, there's a plethora of gear unnecessarily tied to your affiliation with a specific Grand Company.

Given the amount of time that has passed since the armor's release could you make items like the Storm Elite's Scale Coat, Flame Lieutenant's Coat, and etc. available for all to use regardless of your Grand Company?

I think that by taking this action, you would revitalize this gear and make it more prevalent in the game, all without changing anything significant in the current state of the game.

But you can't wear or glamour it anymore if you're not in the Grand Company you got it from.

I want to switch to Adders for the gear, but I'm held hostage by the Frontline achievements that say 'Get <X> amount of wins for any of the Grand Companies'. If I have 150 wins for Flames and I switch to Adders it will stop counting wins until I get 150 wins for Adders as well before it goes to 151.

But seriously, since the Freelancer system was added Grand Companies are pretty much just a cosmetic choice so I either want to be able to use what I've earned (whether that be the GC horse mounts or glamour gear) or the achievements that say 'any of the Grand Companies' to actually mean any of the Grand Companies regardless of where I got the most wins.

The "any of the grand companies" does work while in any of them, unless there is a recent bug that prevents that. I've always seen it go up when I switched GCs, but since I'm currently working on the 300 while a member of Flames, I haven't switched GCs in a while(and won't until I get that one done to start working on the next one).

It definitely didn't for me, I switched to Adders a few months ago and the number stopped going up until I was able to switch back to Flames after the cooldown period was up.

EDIT; But I could be wrong, it may just be the 'Behind Enemy Lines' achievement. Either way I'm stuck where I am until that's done so OPs suggestion would still be much appreciated.

I'm not denying that more glam options would be great, and unlocking the GC gear/mounts would be a step forward, but I also don't think it's likely something that the devs will end up doing because of their usual "identity" excuse for why not to do something like that.

And unless they overhaul or add new stuff to the GC systems the identity part of it is kinda dead by now anyway.
