Is it worth doing the book grinding for Zenith weapon at Level 80 WAR?

Like it says in the title, I'm wondering if I'm pissing in the wind when it comes to spending the gratuitous amount of time it takes to finish the Zenith weapon stuff, namely the Zodiac Braves tomes, when I'm Level 81 and it's somewhat less powerful than my prior weapon at the level I'm at. If anything, I mostly want this damn quest out of my Journal, but is there an advantage to finishing all of this (still need to finish the other 7 out of 9 books)?

The relics in progress are only fair to good at their own level. A maxed out relic is BiS from its level until Lv_5.

So the answer to "should I make [any relic that isn't the current cap level]" is, "do you want to use it for glam?"

In this game even 1 weapon damage makes a significant difference to dps output, so using an old weapon for anything but glamour is strongly discouraged. For reference, the Bravura Zenith's final form is the Ragnarok Zeta, which has weapon damage rating of 66. The Lv80 relic final form is the Blade's Valor, which has 106 weapon damage rating. But if you like how a weapon looks and you have an outfit in mind to go with it, then yes definitely get the weapon to use for glamour.

The relics at each cap level are separate. If you want the Lv80 relic skip 50, 60, 70 and start a fresh Lv80 relic quest line in ShB content.

They are only worth doing if you like how they look (such as the glowing effects).

They are only the "best" weapon for a brief period at the tail end of an expansion. As the previous poster said, there is a separate relic weapon grind for each expansion (aka each 10 levels from level 50 onwards). It's not worth doing during an expansion because crafted, extreme, tomestone, savage and ultimate weapons are better unless it's for an alt class that you don't play as much or you don't do raids. Once the expansion is over, it's no longer useful for stats and the reason to do it is for how it looks.

Eesh, that sounds like a headache; were it not for the Leves and the specific FATEs, it wouldn't be so bad, but...

That's a bummer, then. I think I started the quest line in HW, so it's like...Lv.50-ish, which is awful for my current level

So leves and specific fates are only part of the process for the level 50 relic. Just as each relic line is separate, each quest line is a bit different too. Everyones taste in glam is a bit different, but many of the best looking weapons are relics of one level or another.

At that point the only reasons for finishing the level 50 relic quest are
Using finished weapon for glamour
A sense of accomplishment
Strong completionist tendencies
10 seconds worth of bragging rights


But no, it does not have any practical use at the point you are at.

Lol. Yeah, the in-game achievements, if anything, might be worth dealing with it. Plus, it'd be silly to have done 2 books in and then just quit cold turkey.
