    This is Now Annoying

One or more of your client settings files, which include your hotbar settings, failed to save.

I have uninstalled Onedrive, turned off all syncing features in Windows
    still this persist.
After the last update on FFXIV it appeared, and no I will not accept to turn off Windows Defender.

    Period.

This can also be a result of Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Ransomware Protection > Controlled Folder Access.
That setting in Windows has the ability to "lock" writes to files on your computer, of which FF14 needs to do in order to save the settings and UI changes.
It unfortunately has the very bad habit of "forgetting" what is a good write and what is not, it's a problem on Microsoft's end and can seemingly at random lock out a "good" write.
Turn off that switch, run the game and make your changes and save, then once you are satisfied with your settings and UI, then go switch it back on and see if that helps.

Had the same problem soon as 6.5 was released.
Seven years of playing and I've never seen this before until now.
Started happening soon as 6.5 came out.

I was able to fix mine by turning off OneDrive backing up my Documents folder, which is where games like FFXIV store their client-side data such as your character config (which is silly, Square - put it in the game data folders like all the other game developers do).
Even changing OneDrive to leave all the files on the computer instead of cloud access still didn't fix it until I completely turned off backing up the folder period.
Still reporting it as a bug. It was working before 6.5 with OneDrive backing the folder up previously. What broke?

Yup that solved it, thank you for tip and help.

Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Ransomware Protection > Controlled Folder Access

    Set to off
