I've been playing ffxiv for a long time now and one thing that's always been a point of dissatisfaction for me is just how crit rate, determination and direct hit all feel kind "samey" and skill speed etc; is just a redundant stat that you'll only ever put a few melds in to hit a certain breakpoint - but there is never reason to prioritise it.

What would be your guys thoughts on making the stats more unique so you could actually optimise for one with certain trade offs and benefits (cause right now if you optimise for something like determination for example, there are no benefits you're just taking a dps loss) It's almost always standard to go crit + DH or crit + det or near enough every class, bar maybe BLM?

imo it'd be cool if they each had like a specific focus, thoughts?

I sadly missed out on when you could also meld the main stats of STR, VIT, MIND, INT etc; but that always struck me as something fun.

I think one of the reasons why I've started to notice this more is cause a main selling point on FFXIV was we don't need stats to be unique and individual because class identity did that for you, each class felt unique and individual and did something very specific. But with recent reworks, a lot of the classes are starting to feel samey in their rotations and damage, and the only thing different is the aesthetic.
